Services Information Regarding Service Contact Details Knowsley Parent Carers Voice (KPCV) The Knowsley Parent Carers Voice are a group of 0151 549 1412 parents and carers of children with special [email protected] education needs and disabilities from Knowsley. Our children are of various ages ranging from new Knowsley Carers Centre born to 25 years of age. Our aim is to work in 143 Bewley Drive partnership with Education, Social Care and Health & Wellbeing services to influence and L32 9PE develop quality services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities in Knowsley.

Purpose of the Knowsley Parent Carers Voice

 Membership is open to all parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 yrs with special educational needs or disabilities  We meet to talk about issues that affect us, our children and our families  We share information and experiences between professionals and parents directly  We liase and meet with Council officials and Health Service Providers with a view to helping them improve, we are the experts and we need to help them understand  We consult on changes that affect the parent carers and the children with special educational needs or disabilities

The Resource Centre Woolfall Heath Avenue We currently have a coffee morning on the first Huyton Friday of the month at 9.30 am. to 1pm. and a L36 3YE craft class for the remaining Fridays of the month. The class takes place between 9.30 am and 2.00 pm. but you can drop in at any point between those two times.

The parent and carers support group also have a fantastic lending library resource available to parents and children from Knowsley. They have available a whole series of books to help develop awareness and understanding of specific impairments, books to help promote positive attitudes to disability and books which are more generally about acceptance and respecting differences.

Stars We are a Knowsley based parent support group 07914794492 or 07901557781 for children aged 5-14 years with additional needs [email protected] and their families. The George Howard Centre, Lickers Lane, Stars Liverpool is run by parent volunteers Whiston, and very lucky to be partnered with local charity, , the James Greenop Foundation, and we L35 3PN also fundraise to keep the funds topped up, our service has been running since 2011. We organise fortnightly coffee mornings and once monthly Stay and Play sessions with sensory room access.

Listening ear Listening Ear is a well-established counselling 0151 488 6648 and support organisation providing therapeutic services for people aged six and [email protected] upwards. Based in Halewood, Merseyside, we are a growing and ambitious social enterprise, St Nicholas Centre one of only three British Association for 70 Church Road Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Halewood accredited Adult Counselling services in L26 6LB Merseyside and we were the first organisation to achieve accreditation in https://listening-ear.co.uk/ Merseyside.

We specialise in supporting children, young people and adults who have experienced loss such as: bereavement – including murder, manslaughter and suicide – divorce and family break-up.

However, we help people experiencing a wide range of issues in addition to this:-

 Those experiencing domestic violence;  with low self-esteem;  anxiety;  depression;  stress;  health problems;

 job-loss;  debt;  panic attacks;  trauma and flash-backs.
