Grupo Faustino is the country’s leading producer of fine from Rioja and one of the most celebrated names in modern Spanish . Founded 150 years ago by Eleuterio Martinez Arzok, Grupo Faustino has excelled in balancing tradition and modernity over the past decades. The received worldwide acclaim in the 1950s when descendant Julio Faustino Martinez launched the family-owned label in both national and international markets. Today, the estate is led by Don Julio Martinez along with his children.

With 1,625 acres of , Faustino’s Reserva and Gran Reserva wines are all estate grown and bottled. The vineyards are located in the upper portion of the , at an altitude of 1,200-1,800 feet. Here, the climate is relatively cool thanks to the maritime influence of the Atlantic Ocean to the north, and the vines thrive in the area’s chalky soil.

Faustino Crianza is a modern style red Rioja, a perfect introduction to aged Spanish wines.

Selected grapes, representing the finest quality crop are harvested in Faustino estate vineyards in the Rioja Alavesa region. These vineyards were planted between 1970 and 1978.

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES Grapes are de-stemmed and undergo fermentation before going through a 20-day period. The is aged for 8 months in medium-toasted casks of American white and is then transferred to medium-high toasted French oak casks where it ages for an additional 6 months. The wine spends an additional two years in bottle before being released.

DESCRIPTION Color: Very deep, intense ruby Aroma: Remarkably rich aromas of ripe red cherries, toast and spicy oak Taste: Full-bodied, well-structured and silky flavors of red berries, vanilla and toasty oak. This wine is very concentrated and has a long, lingering finish.

Bodegas Faustino wines possess an iconic package -- each Burgundy shaped bottle bears a distinguishing Rembrandt style portrait. These portraits, which are on display at , have a link to art and music, an inspiration for creating the masterpiece inside the bottle.
