Company Information Purbeck District Council Westport House Road Wareham BH20 4PP Change in Emissions

The Council’s greenhouse gas emissions have consistently reduced each year through the implementation of several energy saving initiatives including: sharing premises with other organisations, a new energy efficient heating system, secondary double glazing and installation of thin client technology and server virtualisation. Behaviour change has also led to a reduction in business travel. The Council is no longer responsible for ‘indirect GHG emissions’ associated with the waste and recycling service as these are now recorded by County Council and no longer appears in Purbeck District Council’s annual GHG emissions report. This situation may change in the future. Approach This report has been prepared in accordance with Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) guidance on how to measure and report your greenhouse gas emissions', using conversion factors from the Greenhouse Gas Conversion Factor Repository www.ukconversionfactorscarbonsmart.co.uk . Target Purbeck District Council’s Carbon Management Plan began in 2009 with an aspirational target to reduce CO2 emissions from its own estate and operations by 15% by the end of March 2013. Purbeck District Council achieved a 21% reduction by the target date against the baseline year 2007- 2008. Intensity Measurement
