Make them aware that hundreds in the Capital District have this disease. Make them aware that we don’t yet have a cure. And be an educator for your health care providers, too. Many know too little about this disease. Know enough to both protect yourself and inform others. Know enough to be a resource to those who care for you. Know enough to advocate for your needs. Your silence or ignorance can put YOU at risk, so don’t let yourself be a victim of the disease or of uninformed care.
