The use of render is not generally desirable in a Conservation Area however in this instance is mitigated by the other positive features of the design. Recommendation: APPROVAL The proposed fireplace is far more in keeping with the period of the house than the one that it is proposed to replace. If the wall is studded it is likely to be a recent addition and is unlikely to be an important
