Sabelt was born in 1972 as OEM manufacturer. Over the years the expansion of mandatory front and rear seat belts has imposed new production systems allowing to consolidate fi rst, and then developing, an extensive knowledge of buckles, webbing and restraint systems. This technology base allowed the creation of specifi c system for race cars in which extreme conditions and safety need were a quite diffi cult compromise to reach. Reached the sector leadership, Sabelt extended its catalogue offering a full range of products for drivers safety and accessories for passive safety of the vehicle. Thanks to this growth, Sabelt had the chance to cooperate with the most important car manufacturers and with the major teams of world in F1, GP2, F3 , in , in Le Mans Series, in Fia GT Championship. Today Sabet counts 110 employees divided in two plants: Headquarter in Moncalieri (TO), Production department and logistic unit in Moncalieri (TO). DOUBLE HARNESSES SLOT The need is clear : to permit a regulation of the heigh of strap making the seat absorbing a part of energy in case of impact. RTM TECHNOLOGY AND ITS ADVANTAGES Two new seats in Sabelt range are produced with this technology (Resin Transfer Moulding) : GT-200 and GT-300 . This is an absolute novelty in the fi eld of competitions that requires signifi cant investments and grants the complete process stability and systematic control of shell technical values: - Constant thickness and uniform application of the resin which results in a stable behavior to impacts in all seats areas. - Accurate and defi ned thickness at strategical points helps reduce the overall weight while maximizing stiffness. - High gloss fi nishes on both sides of the shell (can be used without cover for wider range of track uses). COOLING VENTILATION HOLES INTEGRATED IN BACKREST External temperature and driving conditions of the driver are one of the critical areas in which FIA is working to improve safety of crews. The back, in the lumbar area in contact with the seat is even more complex. It is thanks to ergonomic studies made for OEM that we tested a solution that includes seatback holes allowing for hot air exchange to improve driver and co-driver cooling. We are developing an improvement to equip the seat with a forced air cooling system that the current seat could match in the future. The new seat GT-625 has been developed for the specifi c use on the track. A thorough study of ergonomics and numerous tests run in car with professional drivers, have led to develop comfortable but also BLACK constraining shapes, also suitable for people suffering from low back FIA pain. The double slots on the back allow to choose between two L RFSEGT625L different heights for the crossing of the shoulder straps. To get smaller sizes or to increase locally the constraint, it can be used a reduction kit that consists of 6 pads with velcro, to be applied at the side of the shoulders, torso and thighs, with thikness of 20 mm and available in two different densities: RFRID001 ( density 75) and RFRID002 (density 28). The seat is approved according to 8862-2009 FIA standard, the most severe in terms of safety, for the use in GT and Tourism cars, and with the RA8862019 sliding system.

MAXIMUM SAFETY, MINIMUM WEIGHT

FIA The new FIA specifi cation FIA8862-2009 is born to grant, through the increasing of body stiffness, a better and uniform protection of the driver, ideally placed in a complete safety cell, in which all the components interact. It’s to obtain the reduction of shell fl ection that seats weights are universally increased, causing some alarm among the teams, that daily work to contain weight of bodies and settings. The weight of GT-620 shell is 8,5Kg,, for a total weight (that includes “impact absorber”, foams, fi xing plates and cover) of less than 10 kg, which puts this model at the top of the range.
