1 Village Social Transformation Foundation (VSTF) VSTF is a section 8 company of that is headed by the Government of Maharashtra under the aegis of Rural Development Department and partnering with organisations like Tata Trusts, Axis Bank Foundation, Mahindra Rise, ATE Foundation, JSW Foundation, HUL, Deutsche Bank, etc. VSTF is set up as a Pub- lic-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Government of Maharashtra and India’s leading corporates and philanthropic organizations, to plug development gaps across rural Maharashtra. The aim is to transform 1000 low HDI villages in Maharashtra by conver- gence of existing government schemes and programs in coordination with the Chief Minister's Rural Devel- opment Fellow. Mr. Praveen Pardeshi (IAS) Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai Praveen served for 29 years as an IAS officer during which he served as Col- lector of Latur & Solapur, Municipal Commissioner and PCMC, Secretary to Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Principal Secretary, Revenue and Forest. While serving as an IAS he focussed on reforming Governance to ensure transparency in implementation and speedy completion of large infrastructure projects like railways, national highways, ports, thermal and hydel projects. He is experienced at handling Forest Conservation Act, Land Acquisition Act 1894 and drafting rules of the new LARR 2013. During his tenure as Pr. Secretary to CM, he promoted flexible labour market by encouraging labour laws reform package, which increased the threshold for prior permis- sion for firing workers up to 300 under the Industrial Disputes Act. He also worked in senior leadership posi- tion in United Nations for 7 years in Geneva which includes serving as Global Head of UNDP Geneva Post Conflict Recovery Unit in Geneva (2002 to 2005), and Senior Co-ordinator, United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, Geneva for over sight of regional offices of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe, for policies on mainstreaming disaster reduction in development programmes.

Mrs. Sandra Shroff Vice-Chairman, UPL Ltd. Sandra is the Vice-Chairman of UPL Ltd. and also at the helm of Enviro Tech- nology Limited and Bharuch Environment Infrastructure Limited as Director. Sandra’s social contribution is at par with her contribution to the growth of the Indian Chemical industry. Actively promoting social infrastructure such as hos- pitals and schools, she is renowned for the establishment of institutions that are ranked among the best in South Gujarat. As a Trustee of the GnyanDham Vapi Charitable Trust, the Ankleshwar Industrial Development Society, Sandraben Nursing College and the Ankleshwar Rotary Educational Society, she spearheads their various social upliftment projects. Her sensitive mind and emphatic attitude towards life are also evident from the fact that she has adopted the Model Eklavya Residential School at Ahwa, which is a school for tribal children in the Dang district. She is also involved in umpteen social and welfare activities such as building of village schools, providing tube-wells to villages and helping the tribal farmers with better methods of farming and agriculture.

Mr. Ronnie Screwvala Founder, Swades Foundation Ronnie’s professional journey, spanning over two decades, is one of the brightest shining examples of entrepreneurship in India. From his outstanding contribution to changing the face of media & entertainment in the country to today building ground up business in fields of education and sports along with embarking upon a mission of uplifting a million rural Indians out of poverty every 5 years, Ronnie has set a new benchmark in pursuing entrepreneurial passions at scale. Ronnie initiated The Swades Foundation, which operates with the single-minded focus of empowering one million lives in Rural India every 5-6 years through a unique 360-degree model with verticals in Water, Sanitation, Health, Nutrition, Community Mobilization, Education, and most importantly Agriculture & Livelihood, to lift them out of pover- ty permanently. Apart from this Ronnie aims to build 10,000 entrepreneurs in the villages his foundation operates in, creating over 30,000 rural jobs. Riding on the back of this entrepreneurial wave in rural India, Ronnie envisions a stop on migration from villages to towns and aims to initiate reverse migration providing community members a sustainable livelihood opportunity in the comfort of their homeland.

4 Mr. David J. Ranz U.S. Consul General, Mumbai A native of New York and a career diplomat since 1992, David is the Consul General of the United States of America in Mumbai. A member of the Senior Foreign Service, David previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Mal- dives) in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs; and as Deputy Assis- tant Secretary of State for Pakistan. Prior to that, He was Director of the Office of Pakistan Affairs. Mr. Ranz’s previous assignments include Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, and Counselor for Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt; and Spokesman and Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. David has also served in Rabat, Morocco; Jerusalem; and Karachi, Pakistan. Mr. Ranz was the 2004 recipi- ent of the U.S. Department of State’s Herbert Salzman Award for International Economic Performance, and 2013 runner-up for the James Clement Dunn Award for Excellence. He has also received six State Depart- ment Superior Honor Awards, and a U.S. Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Public Service from General (ret.) David Petraeus.

Ms. Jayanti Shukla CEO, United Way Mumbai (UWM) Jayanti serves as the CEO of United Way Mumbai (UWM) which is a part of the 130+years old global United Way movement engaged in nearly 1800 commu- nities, spanning 41 countries across the world. She took charge of United Way Mumbai (UWM) in 2008. Prior to this she was with the New India Assurance Co. Ltd, a multinational insurance company, as their Regional Manager at the Delhi Regional Office and then with IL&FS Investsmart Insurance Brokers Ltd. as Vice President for corporate and insurance partnerships. Jayanti has been Director for group companies of Standard Chartered Bank, namely Standard Chartered Securities (India) Ltd. and Standard Chartered Investment and Loans (India) Ltd and served on their boards. She is on the CII Task Force for India@75 and was a member of the CSR Committee of the Indian Merchants Chamber. Jayanti is the founder trustee of the Celebrate Bandra Trust, which organises the enormously popular com- munity event, the Celebrate Bandra Festival in Mumbai.

Ms. Ritu Nathani Head – Cybage CSR and Director, Cybage Ritu heads the two philanthropic arms of Cybage-CybageAsha and Cybage Khushboo. She has been the driving force behind the company’s long term commitment towards the all-round development of the marginalized sections of the society. Under Ritu’s wholehearted guidance and strategic direction, CybageAsha and CybageKhushboo have executed various meaningful educa- tional and socio-economic drives for more than 15 years, creating a life-long impact on the lives of students and thousands of families. Ms. Sowmya Velayudham Chief Executive Officer, Gray Matters India Sowmya is the CEO of Gray Matters India (GMI), a leading educational assessment and analytics organization that is pushing the frontiers of K-12 education using a data-driven approach. Gray Matters conducts over a million assessments every year, across 15 Indian states covering 10,000+ public and private schools and multiple languages while focusing on using that data, to provide feedback that enables student-centric improvement of education sys- tems. GMI has conducted impact assessments of 50+ educational interven- in India, advising funders such as Tata Trusts, Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, British Asian Trust, etc. on the effectiveness of their funding. Sowmya, is passionate about measuring learning scientifically and believes that diagnosing learning gaps is the first step towards better education and efficient utilisation of funds in education. Prior to this stint in the social sector, Sowmya was a cancer biologist, with an MBA from the Indian School of Business, and spent 7 years in various corporate roles with leading Pharma companies

8 Dr. Pankaj Jain Founder, Gyan Shala After graduation from IIT, Roorkee, and Ph.D from IIM-Ahmedabad, Dr. Pankaj worked in Chairman’s office in NDDB and later as faculty in IRMA and then as visiting faculty consultant in IDS, Sussex, Leeds University in UK and MIT, USA. He has immense experience as consultant-researcher with leading development programs of the world, including AMUL, Grameen Bank and BRAC. In 2000, he founded an education NGO program, Gyan Shala, with his faculty colleagues from IIMA/ IRMA to evolve and demonstrate a new school- -ling approach to generate high learning outcomes for first generation learners, by using modest skill/ moti- vation teacher. Gyan Shala has educated over 250000 slum children, in nine cities in four states, helping them to match performance in elite schools, while keeping per child cost very low. Gyan Shala practices have been adopted in many state government schools to raise quality of Education.

Ms. Neha Agarwal Head Business Strategy, Buddy4Study Neha is heading business & strategy at Buddy4Study. She is responsible for building relationships and alliances and ensures that commitment to the part- ners is fulfilled across scholarship, skilling and employee volunteering projects. Being an MBA graduate from IMT Ghaziabad and having worked as a busi- ness consultant with Mckinsey and Zinnov, Neha enjoys working on social innovation and impact creation in the education domain.

He holds Electrical Engineering from the Dayalbagh Education- al Institute, Master of Science holder from BITS Pilani, Management holder from IIM Calcutta, Executive Marketing Program holder from Kellogg School of Management (USA) & Chevening fellow of Kings College London. He is also the Chevening leadership Fellow of 2015, Kings College London, prestigious common- wealth fellowship in the area of Education & Technology. He was also featured as one of the Frontrunners and the Youngest AVP of Corporate India at the age of 27, by Business India in it’s 2008 edition. He has also been featured as CNBC Young Turk for his contribution in Academic Ecosystem & Setting up Innova- tion Centers to foster latest skills & driving entrepreneurship in India.

Mr. Saurabh Singh President, ICICI Foundation Saurabh is part of the Senior Management team leading several functions at the Bank. He takes keen interest in economic, social, rural and regulatory issues. He possesses in-depth knowledge & experience of processes and development practices in Government & Institutional Banking, Customer Ser- vice, Human resources and Corporate Social Responsibility. ICICI Foundation under his leadership has aligned Skill Development & Livelihood Development to socio-economic needs of the country. It is amongst the large participants in the country in the sphere of skill development.Currently the foundation runs 26 Skill Academies and con- ducts Livelihood programs in more than 1000 villages covering more than 125,000 adults every year. More than 125,000 unemployed have been trained and placed and more 250,000 people have been trained on livelihood. Saurabh has extensive general management experience of profit centre management, Human Resource, Customer Service & Quality. He is credited with several large scale project implementation and successes in the Bank. His work has been acknowledged in the form of Best Foundation of the Year Award, Best in Skill Development Award, Best in Livelihood Development Award and more than a 100 awards for energy conservation initiatives.

Mr. Rishi Pathania Head – CSR, UPL Ltd. Rishi has around 17 years of rural development experience in different parts of the country. Prior to joining UPL, he was in charge of CSR at Tata Chemicals, Mithapur, District Jamnagar. Earlier he was based in Tata Chemicals Limited, Babrala (UP) and was transferred to Mithapur to take higher responsibility. Rishi has worked with a small NGO based at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and with a multinational NGO based at Ranchi, Jharkhand. He has focused mostly around improving livelihood in rural areas. His experience of working with NGOs has given him an opportunity to understand the issues in rural development.

10 Ms. Manisha Patil CSR Lead – Community Engagement, Amazon India Manisha leads CSR engagement for Amazon India. She has contributed 13 plus years to development of CSR and sustainability initiatives in large multina- tional corporations. She is an Alumni of TISS Mumbai and, has worked with Unilever and Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative before joining Amazon. With her rich programmatic experience and vision, Manisha drives Amazon Care’s mandates in Education, Health & Hygiene, Women Empowerment, Livelihoods & Entrepreneurship and, Disaster Response.

Mr. Sita Ram Gupta Executive Director, Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation (LHWRF) Sita Ram works as the, Executive Director of Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation (LHWRF) with overall administration and control of inte- grated and holistic rural development activities being carried out in nine Indian States, viz., Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat and Sikkim. Corporate Non-Gov- ernmental Organization Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation (LHWRF) has been promoted by Lupin Limited – a major Indian pharmaceutical company. LHWRF has been developing proper sustainable linkages between Government and the people for implementing vari- ous rural development programmes with a special emphasis on economic development programmes (income generation programmes) for the poorest of the poor, marginalized sections of the society, youth and women. Keynote Address: Mrs. R. Vimala (IAS) Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission Vimala has over 25 years of experience in various departments of the govern- ment and has contributed significantly to Public Welfare Schemes. In her current position as CEO of Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission in the Government of Maharashtra, she works for the empowerment of women through Self – Help Groups (SHGs) in rural Maharashtra. Her widely propagat- ed “Dash Sutra”, the 10 cardinal principles has been instrumental in creating more than 2 lakh self-help groups and associating over 30 lakh families in 34 rural districts of Maharashtra. She is also in charge of skilling rural youth through Deendayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana and has facilitated skilling of over 23000 youth and placing over 10,000 youth in jobs. She started her career as a History Lecturer at University of Pune. Ever since her foray into Public Service in 1993, Vimala has served in several positions, which have been an interesting mix of manage- ment and administration. She has been Joint Managing Director of Small Scale Industries Development Corporation and Film city. She also served as Deputy Commissioner for Entertainment Duty and Rehabili- tation of Project affected persons. She has also worked as the Joint Manager Director of Dadasaheb Phalke Filmcity and also implemented the MGNREGA / EGS as Deputy Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra. Elections and land acquisition are some of the fields in which she has specialised.

Moderator: Mr. Amit Kumar Singh Country Representative India, Tanager Amit is an agribusiness and market development expert with more than 20 years of experience in conceptualizing and executing agriculture and liveli- hoods development programs in a wide range of value chains in agriculture, horticulture and forestry. As Tanager’s country representative for India, he provides team leadership and direction for Tanager’s portfolio of supply chain strengthening activities, with a focus on women and landless farmers. Amit has dedicated his career to strengthening communities and has been responsible for projects that organized more than 100,000 smallholder farmers into self-help and producer groups. He also brings expertise in conducting large-scale research studies, including baseline and end-term assess- ments for USAID, DFID, the Ford Foundation, and UNIDO, among others, and is passionate about develop- ing new tools using Participatory Rapid Appraisals (PRA). With a Master’s in agricultural economics from National Dairy Research Institute, Amit has co-authored two books on value chains and has eleven publica- tions in national and international journals of repute.

Mr. Jacob Ninan Executive Trustee & CEO, Axis Bank Foundation Jacob is a banker with over 30 years of experience in the sector and is associ- ated with Axis Bank Limited since 2000. Jacob used to head the Bank’s busi- nesses in the Middle East and Africa before leading the philanthropy initiatives of the Bank and its subsidiaries through Axis Bank Foundation (ABF). With a passion for ‘giving back to society’, he currently oversees the work of ABF and guides the team in scaling outreach through nurturing collaborations in the development space. He strongly believes that government is the biggest developmental agency and it’s important to leverage on government resources by building partnerships. He is also a Director on the Board of Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation. In his free time, he volunteers to support two NGOs active in Mumbai slum and is involved in healthcare and social wellbe- ing.Established in 2006, ABF has adopted the theme of “Sustainable Livelihoods” and works with the rural communities on Watersheds, Farm and off Farm productivity, Micro enterprises and Skilling. Till date, ABF has worked with over 1.5 million households across 23 States of India.

13 Mr. Ganesh Neelam Executive Director – Collective for integrated Livelihood Initiatives, Tata Trusts Ganesh obtained his Master’s degree in Geo-science from University of Pune in the year 2000. Post his masters, he joined BAIF Development Research Foundation as a Hydro-geologist where he worked for four years on Water- shed Development Programmes to ensure quality planning and optimum utili- zation of the groundwater resource. He also worked on the Horticulture Pro- -motion Programme with the focus of bringing in innovative approaches to water management within horti- culture. He joined Tata Trust in 2004 as a Programme Associate handling the flagship initiative named Cen- tral India Initiative focusing on enhancing livelihoods of tribal communities in Central India. Presently, he leads CINI, which is executing the “LakhpatiKisan – Smart Village” focused programme and also supervis- ing key programmes like Improved Cook stoves and Transform Rural India which would create a large scale positive impact for rural communities. Apart from his role at the Trusts, he is a Director at the Founda- tion for Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship (FISE).

Mr. Suhas Joshi Head – CSR, Bayer South Asia Suhas is the Head of CSR, Bayer South Asia. He is also the Managing Director of Bayer Prayas. Suhas has held senior management positions in some of India's leading agribusiness companies with his experience ranging from marketing to strategic planning. He oversaw the expansion of Bayer’s contract farming operations in India. Under Suhas’ leadership, the company’s Corpo- rate Societal Engagement initiatives have brought the spirit of innovation to the fore and are achieving transformational change that is being implemented in 15 states across India at a budget of approximately INR 150 Mio benefitting around 135,000 people. Today, Bayer is implementing and supporting a number of meaningful social innovation programs over the last few years. Some of them like Discovering Hands and Program for Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence will have long term impact for India. His academic qualifications include a graduate degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Postgraduate degree in Business Management.

Mr. D. Sreenivas Rao Head Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) Trained in Social Work from Osmania University, and in Management of NGOs from the London School of Economics, Sreenivas has over 32 years of experi- ence with the NGO sector in India. After an initial grounding of 3 years at the grassroots, he worked with various national and international NGOs, like Cath- olic Health Association of India, CARE India, Plan International and HLFPPT- PSU initiated not for profit, at senior levels. Over the years, he has gained expertise in program manage- ment, grant management, partnership management, Strategic Planning and resource mobilisation. Pres- ently he is heading Strategic partnerships and Resource Mobilisation at Bharat Rural Livelihoods Founda- tion, an independent Society set by the Government of India since last over three years.

Mr. Suman S. Senior Manager – Rural Livelihoods, Dr. Reddy’s Foundation Suman leads Rural Livelihoods initiatives of Dr.Reddy’s Foundation. He brings more than a decade of professional experience in leading skilling initiative for Youth, Agriculture and rural livelihoods program. His passion in rural initiatives is to develop scalable models for improving the small & marginal farmers and promoting rural entrepreneurship. His areas of interest are solving adaptive social issues through collaboration and entrepreneurship promotions for the bottom of pyramid. Originally from Hyderabad, Suman holds a master’s degree in management.

Mr. Ravi Sreedharan Founder Director, Indian School of Development Management Ravi is the Founder Director of Indian School of Development Management. He has worked in the corporate world for more than 2 decades with HSBC in Dubai, Hongkong, Jakarta and Cairo. At the age of 49, he quit his successful corporate career to pursue his passion for social work. Back in India, he was a part of the leadership team at Azim Premji Foundation which works in 50 districts across the country to improve the quality of government schools and learning levels of children in the least privileged sections of the society.

In her current role as Chief Executive Officer for Cognizant Foundation, she con- tributes towards evolving an overarching charter for the Foundation, defining CSR strategy and goals, managing operations, communication and relation- ship with a broad set of stakeholders. In her two dozen years of service in the IT Industry, she has played diverse leadership roles driving strategic and trans- formational initiatives. As global head of Process and Platforms in Cognizant, she was responsible for developing cutting edge technology solutions and incubating new product ventures that support global delivery. She is a passionate learner, trainer & speaker in industry forums. She mentors several startups and has facilitated many interactive workshops for designing lean process and creative technology solutions for complex business and social needs. She is passionate about spending time with non-profit organizations and social enterprises, actively contributing to the field of education. She is the managing trustee of a charitable trust and co-founder for a bilingual reading and learning program that caters to the underprivileged children. Rajashree obtained her master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Mr. Harshan V V Assistant Vice President, AGNli, Invest India Harshan is Assistant Vice President at Invest India, India’s national investment promotion agency, where he leads several initiatives for the AGNIi technology commercialization programme from the Office of the Principal Scientific Advis- er to the Government of India. Harshan has worked at the intersection of tech- nology and public policy across public, private and non-profit sectors: most recently at the Chief Minister’s Office in Kerala to drive innovation and digital government transformation. He has held leadership roles in the private sector, forging digital partnerships for innovation at organizations like Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro Limited. Harshan holds a PGDM from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode and a bachelor’s in electrical and electronics engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum.

Ms. Shagun Sabharwal Director Policy, Training and Communication, J-Pal South Asia Shagun is the Director of Policy, Training and Communications at J-PAL South Asia and Director of the CLEAR South Asia Centre. She leads J-PAL South Asia’s policy team in building partnerships with governments, donors, civil society organizations, and research institutions to promote the use of evidence in decision-making and scale-up of successful social programs. She also provides strategic oversight and leads capacity building in monitoring and evaluation at the CLEAR South Asia Centre. She is currently a principal investigator on a randomized eval- uation of the scale-up of the graduation approach in the state of Bihar, India. Before joining J-PAL, Shagun was an Evaluation Specialist with 3ie and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Population Council. She completed her doctorate in public health from Harvard University.

He also spearheads the philanthropy aspect of India’s largest sporting event – The Tata Mumbai Marathon. Mr. Neeraj Kumar Lal Head – CSR, Arvind Ltd. Neeraj heads CSR function of the company, responsible for conceptualisation, formulation of strategies and management of the programmes aimed at addressing the societal issues in Urban India. The present engagement is in an ambitious Educational programme aimed to improve quality of education for the poor children in Ahmedabad and influence positively their future earning streams with the help of local industry and the government.

Ms. Shruti Goel Strategic Partnerships Lead South Asia, DFID – Impact Programme, Pal- ladium Group Shruti is a well-known expert in market based development models and inno- vative finance for impact. With more than 14 years’ experience of working in South and Southeast Asia, she has led design of several high impact partner- ships with a range of capital providers including CSR, commercial lenders, social enterprises, foundations and the like. In her current role with DFID-IM- PACT programme, she is working towards strengthening the impact investing- -ing ecosystem in the region with the aim of increasing the volume and distribution of impact capital for broader access to capital for investees.

Mr. Alok Varma Associate Project Director, HCL Samuday Alok is associated with HCL Samuday as Associate Project Director. He over- sees organization development, project design, and monitoring. Alok started his career as a civil servant in the state of Uttar Pradesh and holds a post grad- uate diploma in Management from IIM, Lucknow. He has also worked as con- sultant on various infrastructure and development projects for several state and international governments and institutions.

17 Ms. Rushda Majeed India Country Representative, Bernard Van Leer Foundation Rushda is responsible for Bernard van Leer Foundation’s work in India. Previ- ously, she helped manage Bloomberg Philanthropies’ India Smart Cities Chal- lenge, a competition to select 100 cities for central government funding as part of the country’s Smart Cities Mission. Rushda has led research in 11 countries for Princeton University’s Innovations for Successful Societies to analyse reforms that improve government performance and accountability. She has also served as a core team member on the re-election campaign of a two-term Member of Parliament, advised a World Bank team on case study research, and managed a global leadership programme for a New York-city based non-profit. Rushda has written numerous case studies on institutional reforms, and her writings on the subject have appeared in Foreign Policy magazine’s Democracy Lab. She has a mas- ter’s degree in international affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Eastern Kentucky University.

Dr. Sukriti Chauhan Consultant, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation Dr. Sukriti, an INLAKS scholar, is a trained lawyer with a Masters in Interna- tional Development Law and Human Rights from the Warwick University, UK. She has close to a decade of advocacy and communications expertise in public health and human rights. She started her career with PATH, India, work- ing closely on HIV/AIDS, sexual reproductive health, cervical cancer preven- tion and maternal and child health. In her previous role a as Director at Global Health Strategies, Dr. Sukriti led the Tuberculosis Control and Prevention Project resulting in national level policy changes and campaigns, as well as set up the Grand Challenges in Global Health initiative in India. Dr. Sukriti has worked closely with the Indian Council of Medical Research to set up a Communications Unitto build the capacity of scientists to effectively and credibly relay scientific evidence to the public and key decisionmakers. She also spearheaded the implementation of a champions-based strategy to create an enabling environment for uptake of family planning services with a focus on spacing and access to the basket of contraceptive choices, with a rights-based perspective in six states in India. Dr.Sukriti has recently been awarded her PhD titled ‘Legal and Social Impact of HIV/AIDS on Abandoned Housewives in Kolkata and Delhi’ from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has presented and published her work at the global and national level. She started her first NGO for abandoned HIV posi- tive women in the year 2000 and is a trained Indian classical singer and an avid animal rights activist.

She is a physician with a Master’s in Hospital Administration and gained her Ph.D. in Health Systems Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Her work revolved around the strategic change in healthcare organizations, accredita- tion, and safety culture with a focus on complex adaptive systems. Spotlight : Ms. Durga Shakti Nagpal, IAS Deputy Secretary – Department of Commerce, Government of India Durga is an IAS Officer, currently serving as the Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce with The Government of India. Prior to this, she was working as the Officer on Special Duty to former Union Agriculture and Farm- er’s Welfare Minister. She has played a pivotal role as a Chief Development Officer and Joint Magistrate with the Government of India. Durga has pursued B. Tech in Computer Science from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology. Known for her fearless action against the illegal sand miners, in her very first posting in UP, Noida, Durga was a leading face in the anti-corruption movement against the illegal sand mining within her jurisdiction in the GautamBudh Nagar. She formed a special investigation team to stop the illegal sand mining in Greater Noida by the banks of river Yamuna. Under her leadership, the adminis- tration confiscated 24 dumper trucks and 300 trolleys used in illegal operations and arrested those who were a part of illegal sand mining. Her fearless actions against the invincible sand mafias are perceived as a victory of the oppressed classes against the corruption and criminalisation in politics and set a new language for a corruption free India. She has been a team support and handled multi-faceted issues about various ministries and cabinet on a wide range of matters. As a Secretariat, she was responsible for facili- tating schemes and organizing project inaugurations. Durga is also a motivational speaker who has been striving towards achieving her vision of a corruption-free India and creating a society that is aware. She strongly believes that “When you aspire for something, the entire universe conspires in helping you achieve it.”

Ms. Ruchi Khemka Vice President and Head – CSR, Deutsche Bank, India With almost 20 years of experience across working in the social development sector and having started two enterprises, Ruchi believes she is the chosen one towards building the larger socio-economic agenda of the country. Ruchi started her career with Microsoft India as one of their youngest employees and worked there for 5 years across different Marketing & Sales roles. She has set-up two entrepreneurial ventures, one for-profit fashion enterprise and one social enterprise (SevaYatraEdutrips) that she co-founded focusing on volunteerism and CSR advisory to Companies in India. Over years, she has also worked with several non-profit organizations and has volun- teered extensively with NGOs in some of the most rural locations in the country which have been among the most enriching years of her life. Ms. Anagha Mahajani General Manager, Ambuja Cement Foundation A senior professional with over 24 years of versatile experience in the social development sector, Anaghais the Head of Program Monitoring and Research at Ambuja Cement Foundation. She brings significant contribution in perspec- tive building, design & development of projects, strategies and implementation plans. She is an alumni of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and is a faculty with the Urban Rural Community Development (URCD) department at the Institute. She has been a resource person for CINI’s 6 month programme on NGO Management and Reproduc- -tive Health and a faculty for IGNOU’s rural development graduate programme. She has to her credit the initiation of a women’s empowerment programme in the Kashmir valley. She has been associated with many bilateral, multilateral, UN and government programmes in a monitoring and evaluation role. She has been instrumental in formulating CSR policy, strategy and leading implementation in the corporates she has been associated with. At United Breweries Limited (UBL), Tushara leads the CSR initiatives across the 21 breweries. Her experience of working with multiple partners across varied geographies has culminated in implementation of major Water Conservation projects in drought prone areas of Rajasthan and Maha- rashtra and Safe Drinking Water projects in Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha and Haryana. UBL strives to be a water neutral company by 2025 and most of the CSR initiatives are designed to meet this goal.

Mr. Ganapathy P.G. (PG) Director of Programs, Consortium for Dewats Dissemination (CDD) Society Ganapathy is an infrastructure and sustainability professional who brings with him around 25 years of experience in the infrastructure sector spanning water & sanitation, housing & real estate, urban infrastructure and sustainability. In his current role, he drives strategic initiatives, outreach activities and projects in the Water Body rejuvenation domain.Till recently, he was a Senior Advisor at CDD and Consultant (Special Projects) at Wipro where he program-man- -aged specific sustainability initiatives. In the past, he has been a Senior Advisor and adjunct faculty at IIHS, an Advisor to the Infrastructure Development Corporation of Karnataka (iDecK), an external infrastructure specialist consultant at Mckinsey & Co., Strategic Advisor to JUSCO and consultant to the FIRE Capital Fund. He was the Founder and Director-in-charge at Ecofirst Services, a sustainable design consultancy which offers infrastructure and services design to large buildings and township projects. He has also worked as an individual consultant with the World Bank and the ADB in the urban sector. Prior to this, PG held senior positions in several corporations: he was the Regional Manager for South Asia in the water divi- sion of Black & Veatch (B&V), worked with the Mahindra Group in their real estate and infrastructure divi- sion, and worked for 9 years (of which 6 years as a partner) in the start-up phase of Feedback Ventures. He has made significant contribu- tions towards enhancing Citi’s brand and protecting the bank’s reputation with key external and internal stakeholders in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, while continuously promoting Citi’s global network and solutions. Under his leadership, bringing his experi- ence of 26 years, Debasis constructed and executed the Citi India franchise turnaround story, contributed to business strategy, while reinforcing Citi’s leadership positions across digital banking, credit cards, wealth management, treasury and trade solutions, investment banking, and markets. Between April 2014 and March 2019, Debasis expanded Citi’s community activities in financial inclusion, education, art and culture, and youth economic opportunity, touching more than 7.5 million lives across low-income households in India, with an investment of INR 2.5 billion through 54 relationships.In 2016, he created Giving at Citi, which became the first branded payroll deduction program within Citi globally to commit institutional matching and encourage employee volunteering for social causes.He joined Citi from Yes Bank, where he was Country Head of Communications and Investor Relations. Prior to this, he headed communications and investor relations at Rediff.com, where he was part of the core team that launched the start-up’s IPO. Mr. Manish Prakash Sahu Chief Operating Officer, RPG Foundation Manish is a social development practitioner with over 14 years of experience of working in India and other parts of the globe. He currentlyworks as a Chief Operating Officer at RPG Foundation. As part of his current role, he is leading the CSR agenda of the RPG Group and driving a mission to make sustained impact in lives of less privileged people in a most efficient and effective way. Under his headship, the program is able to skill 15,000 youth with disability through 50 plus centres in more than 21 states and aiming to create 10,000 livelihoods every year. He has worked extensively over a span of more than 12 years handling the diverse portfolios with proven track record in Health, Education, Livelihood, Trade and Cultural Relations. Before this he worked with the British Coun- cil as Head of Business Development and Partnerships where he is credited with scaling up several large scale, high impact projects at pan India level and developing multiple government partnerships. Dr. Girish is an emerging leader in the field of development, entrepreneurship and innovation. He had worked and carried out projects at WHO-Geneva Headquarters,Sonris as De Bombay and various grassroots level NGOs. He possesses in-depth knowledge & experience of development practices in Government, NGOs, and international level.
