Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funding has been allocated to park projects from available sources including the City’s Capital Project Reserve Fund, grants, corporate donations and individual contributions. In addition, fees collected from new housing development in lieu of parkland dedication has allowed the City to rehabilitate existing neighborhood and community parks (Quimby Act), and to acquire and develop new parkland and recreational amenities at a ratio of 2.6 acres - 3.0 acres for every 1,000 residents (Mitigation Fee Act). The City has also completed studies and conducted community outreach to inform park project planning.
