Foreword

As chair of the Mayo Suicide Prevention Alliance, I am happy to present the third edition of this directory. The “Directory of Mayo Well-being and Mental Health Support Services, 2017/18” outlines supports that are available locally and nationally. It also provides a short description of what these services do and how to contact them. We hope this information will be useful for both those providing services and those who would like to avail of them.

This edition comes after the publication of “Connecting for Life”, ’s national strategy to reduce Suicide and Self Harm 2015 – 2020. It is our hope as an alliance that it will contribute to Goal 1 of this strategy and help increase awareness of available suicide prevention and mental health services.

We are very thankful to all the organisations and groups who have agreed to be listed in the directory. This updated version takes account of some new organisations and service changes that have taken place during the last 2 years. We have worked hard to ensure all the information is accurate

and up to date at the time of going to print. Any amendments or changes can be accessed on our website www.mayobewell.ie .

In conclusion, I would like to thank all members of the Alliance who have contributed to the development of this directory and also the HSE for funding this publication.

We hope this directory will be an invaluable support to you in the future.

Siobhan Mc Brearty, Resource Officer Suicide Prevention, Mayo. Chair of Mayo Suicide Prevention Alliance, February 2017.
