Environmental changes have led to cellular adjustment and adaptation in plant growth. External factors have, for example, influenced the growth pattern of Gynura procumbens plants and led to production of specific secondary metabolite internally for the purpose of differentiation and conditional interaction. These developmental patterns and production of metabolites are expressional characteristics of the plant, and so growers can have only a restricted range of movement or limited control over their reaction to environmental changes compared to their reaction to human or animal interactions. Even though metabolite production is pervasive among the plants, the need to explore abiotic control strategies for regulating the patterns of growth of Gynura procumbens as well as their accumulation of metabolites has been shown to be significant in recent studies of plant-abiotic interactions. As flores pistiladas de S. lhotzkiana e bissexuais de S. sellowiana são descritas pela primeira vez. Cinco espécies são ilustradas pela primeira vez. São apresentados chave para identificação, comentários sobre afinidades, distribuição geográfica e ecologia das espécies. A Serra do Mar se destaca como importante centro de diversidade do gênero no estado do Rio de Janeiro, sendo os contrafortes da Serra dos Órgãos e do Maciço do Tinguá, as áreas com maior representatividade de táxons. This study was done to determine the antibacterial and antifungal activities of E.L. root extract against Irani Binti Alloha1, Nurul ‘Ain three common oral pathogens. Material and Methods: The microorganisms used were Liyana Binti Aziz1, Ghasak Candida albicans, Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus casei. Dioecy is a rare breeding system among the angiosperms (approximately 6% of all flowering plants) while hermaphroditism (having male and female function present within each flower) is predominant. Dioecious angiosperms may be rare because the transitions to dioecy have been recent or because dioecious angiosperms experience decreased diversification rates (speciation minus extinction) compared to plants with other breeding systems. -

Vasomotor symp- toms are the most characteristic and notable symptoms of menopause. Objective: To investigate the changes in the frequency and severity of hot flush and associated vasomotor symptoms experienced by peri-menopausal and menopausal women supplemented with the herbal formula- tion (Nu-femme™) comprising Labisia pumila (SLP+®) and Eurycoma longifolia (Physta®) or placebo. Design: Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 24-week study enrolled 119 healthy women aged 41–55 years experiencing peri-menopausal or menopausal symptoms and supplemented with Nu-femme™ or placebo. The primary endpoint was comparative changes between treatment groups in the change in the frequency and severity of hot flushes. The secondary objectives were to assess the changes in the frequency and severity of joint pain, Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) and Menopause-Specific Quality of Life (MENQOL) questionnaire domain scores. -

Received: 21 July 2019; Accepted: 10 September 2019; Published: 13 September 2019 Abstract: The Myrsinaceae s.str. clade is a tropical woody representative in Myrsinoideae of Primulaceae and has ca. 1300 species. The generic limits and alignments of this clade are unclear due to the limited number of genetic markers and/or taxon samplings in previous studies. Here, the chloroplast (cp) genomes of 13 taxa within the Myrsinaceae s.str. clade are sequenced and characterized. These cp genomes are typical quadripartite circle molecules and are highly conserved in size and gene content. Three pseudogenes are identified, of which ycf15 is totally absent from five taxa. Noncoding and large single copy region (LSC) exhibit higher levels of nucleotide diversity (Pi) than other regions. A total of ten hotspot fragments and 796 chloroplast simple sequence repeats (SSR) loci are found across all cp genomes.
