This species represents a species complex of over 60 species. Distribution: Cosmopolitan. Substrate: Bark, decorticated wood, herbaceous tissue, fruits, fungal sporocarps, roots, soil. The asexual state also occurs on keratinaceous animal tissues. Disease Note: Facultative pathogen casuing basal canker, wilt, bulb rot, pink root and root rot. Host: Multiple plant families. Some strains may cause infections in humans. Supporting Literature: Aguin, O., Cao, A. , Pintos, C., Santiago, R., Mansilla P., and Butron, A. 2014.
