Notice of Race

The Corsair Class Association of Queensland invites entries for the Corsair Class National Championship to be sailed on Moreton Bay between 29 December 2006 & 5 January 2007. The Event will be hosted by the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.

1. Rules

The regatta will be governed by the current “Racing Rules of 2005-2008” (RRS) and Special Regulations (SR) of Australia, the Corsair Class Association of Australia, this Notice of Race (except where any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions) and by the Sailing Instructions.

2. Eligibility and Entry

The Corsair Class National Championship is open to all financial members of the Corsair Class Association of Australia. Skippers and Crew for the ANC division must currently be enrolled with a recognized Australian Defence Force Unit. Entrants should be familiar with Rules 46 and 75.

Eligibility for the Corsair Class Association of Australia National Youth Championships shall be confined to a person under twenty one (21) years of age at the date of the commencement of the event who comply with Rules 46 and 75. It is recommended that each participating boat be insured with valid third party liability insurance.

Beach entries will be accepted on 29 December 2006 from 09:00 am to 12:00 am at Race Headquarters at RQYS, together with the appropriate Entry Fee of $120.

2 of 4 5. Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions will be mailed to all entrants on receipt of the entry form and race fees. Alternatively, late entrants may receive Sailing Instructions at registration:

The course shall be described in the sailing instructions.

6. Scoring

The Low Point Scoring System shall apply. A minimum of 5 races must be completed to constitute a series.

7. Measurement

Each boat must have a current measurement certificate. There may be random safety & measurement checks during the series.

8. Divisions

Entries may be divided into division of approximately 10 boats using the results of the first three races as a guide. The Race Committee shall have the right to alter or amend division allocations in light of subsequent placings. A boat achieving 5th or better placing in any race shall be automatically result in a division 1 allocation. If five or more boats indicate they intend to sail as a B Fleet, a separate division may be made for these entrants.

9. Trophies

Prizes should be awarded as follows:

Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the organizing authority.
