NATIONAL 2020 CONFERENCE alking in Faith & Truth W

OS GUINNESS ROD DREHER HELEN ALVARE’ DEXTER NUTALL OCTOBER 15-18 CRYSTAL GATEWAY MARRIOTT ARLINGTON, VA EARN CLE CLSCONFERENCE.ORG CREDITS! Speakers Greetings featured FROM DAVID NAMMO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND CEO

Dear Friends,

We are so excited to gather with you – in person – this October! What a welcome relief it will be to see your smiling faces.

I hope you will consider joining us – your fellow Christian lawyers, law students, judges, professors, family, and friends – as we return to Washington, D.C., for a wonderful time of fellowship, food, and learning.

It is fortuitous that our theme this year is “Walking in Faith & Truth.” Although all followers of Christ should strive to live by this principle, many of us have found that this year has brought with it new challenges in trusting the Lord in all things.

We have lined up some incredible main speakers for this year’s conference, including Os Guinness, Professor Helen Alvaré, Rod Dreher, and Pastor Dexter Nutall. Joining them, as always, is an incredible lineup of workshop speak- ers.

I know you will be blessed, as well as educated, throughout the weekend. October in an election year is a beautiful and amazingly quiet time to visit our nation’s capital. I sincerely hope you can join us.

I do not want to ignore the fact that some of you may still be concerned about what this fall may hold given the unprecedented challenges we have already faced this year. I cannot predict what things will look like in October; however, I can assure you we are moving forward with conference planning and will make every necessary and plausible accommodation under our control so that everyone will feel welcomed. Of course, we will never hold you financially accountable for circumstances beyond your control. As such, I encourage you to take advantage of the early bird rate and register today for the 2020 CLS National Conference.

I am very much looking forward to seeing you this October.

SPECIAL EVENTS

CHURCH AND MINISTRY GENERAL COUNSEL FORUM THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 • 12:00–3:00 PM • COST: $50 The Church and Ministry General Counsel Forum at the CLS National Conference is an opportunity for general counsel of Christ-centered churches and Christian ministries to interact and learn from each other. During this extended session, you’ll be an active participant, both sharing your legal challenges and hearing how your peers have addressed similar issues. Here you’ll find a friendly place to tell your stories and listen to the stories of other general counsel. Find out what works and doesn’t work and hear about both the successful things you can do in your ministry and what traps led to setbacks that you’ll want to avoid. It's also a chance to create relationships with like-minded general counsel who could become both friends and resources in the future.

The Forum is open to general counsel of churches and ministries. It is also open to attorneys practicing in law firms who serve as general counsel for a church or ministry. Participants are welcome to come for this event only or for the entire CLS conference. Lunch will be provided.
