GAUGE:

20 sts + 27 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR . When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

kfb (knit into front and back) Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then k through back of same st – 1 st increased. sk2p Slip 1 as if to knit, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over – 2 sts decreased. To work last sk2p in a rnd, slip last 2 sts of rnd, k first st of the next rnd, pass both slipped stitches over. ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them together.

NOTES:

1. Carry color not in use across wrong side of work. 2. Tam is worked in the round, so every rnd of Chart 1 and Chart 2 should be read from right to left. 3.
