Job Title: International Programmes Director

Indicative Salary £45,000c Range/Grade:

Hours: Full- 35 hours a week

Work base: Bletchley office

Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer Responsible For: International Programmes Department Job Context

Toybox works with street connected children; working across the spectrum of prevention, intervention and re- integration. We work through local partners in Peru, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, India and Kenya. Our vision is of a world where there are no street connected children, where families are restored, those are disadvantaged have choices and hope and all children have a voice.

It is an exciting time for the organisation as we are in the process of developing out next 3 year strategic plan, and this role is critical in helping Toybox achieve this new strategy.

Overall purpose of this role

The International Programmes Director will: lead the International Programmes Team; oversee growth in the number of partners and projects for the organisation to deliver against the strategic priorities; ensure all programmes are of a high quality; effectively implement a new growth strategy through, developing and leading the organisation’s approach to funding from institutional donors; develop a robust advocacy programme; and our move into other thematic areas of programming with exploited children.

In addition the International Programmes Director will support the Chief Executive Officer in expanding the mission of Toybox and the scope of the organisation’s work.

Key responsibilities

Strategic direction setting

 To develop and implement the expansion strategy will take Toybox into new geographical and thematic areas  To work with the CEO and wider Leadership Team in implementing and refining our new organisational strategy  To revise the International Programmes strategy to reflect the new organisational strategy; including new thematic areas and geographies and country strategies for each country we work in.  In the event of any Mergers or Acquisitions, to lead the merging of programmes between the organisations.

Operational Management

 To manage the International Programmes Team  To support the further development and implementation of Toybox’s Theory of Change Adaptive Programming, DME and PCM systems, ensuring excellent quality and annual reporting for all programmes  To refine and enhance the Toybox Partnership approach, including our accountability survey, and actively look for partners who complement our mission statement and core values  To implement and monitor Toybox’s Child Protection policy, Anti-Fraud and Anti-Bribery Policy, promoting a zero tolerance approach where staff or partners fail to comply  To support the delivery of our work and communicate the outcomes with the Marketing department  To review progress against strategy, annual plans and project plans  To monitor performance including assessment of impact  To monitor budgets on a monthly basis  To collation and disseminate data to inform strategic direction and operational activities

Income Generation

 To lead and develop the robust model for institutional funding  To create a programme of engagement for institutional funders with key milestones  To chair the Funding Review Committee

Organisational Leadership

 To contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of the organisational strategy  To contribute to the wider leadership of the organisation  To attend Toybox Trustee Board meetings and provide appropriate paperwork  To support the CEO in risk management  To enhance the reputation and work of Toybox within the sector and wider  To support and enhance the Christian ethos of the Charity

Team Management

 To lead, motivate and inspire team members  To promote continuous personal development of team members

Networking and Advocacy

 To develop key partnerships and networks as indicated by the organisational strategy  To engage with appropriate stakeholders forums and to network with consortia groups and key organisations as required  Ensure an appropriate level of advocacy within UK and overseas as required

 As a member of the Toybox Crisis Team to be on 24 hour call in exceptional circumstances  To support the CEO in keeping up to date security procedures and facilitating security training for appropriate staff  To be innovative in your work, spending up to 10% of your time on innovation projects  To work with international partners helping to build trust and shared understanding  To undertake any other tasks that may be regarded as appropriate for a role of this nature within the organisation  To travel as required to fulfil the role, both nationally and internationally  To represent Toybox at appropriate forums nationally and internationally  To undertake such personal development and training as is required to fulfil the role
