Ask any one of us what the best part of our college experience has been and you will hear: semiformal in Rosarito or The Black and White Affair downtown, formal in Vegas or that ONE exchange (when Shingo did WHAT?), the date you brought to Treehugger or the game where Ray caught that sweet touchdown.... Whatever you hear, it will be one of the timeless memories that Sigma Nu provides its members.

When asked, the first thing I’d tell you is that it is a great time. Joining Sigma Nu is a way to make those legendary college memories we all dream of having.

Our brotherhood is what sets us apart and makes us Sigma Nu. We are a diverse group of young men and through our pledge program and our experiences we establish unbreakable bonds. These friendships are what account for those unforgettable memories and make our organization such a rich, amusing, enduring part of our lives , no matter if we are Trick or Treating for Hunger, winning an IFC football game, or singing The White Star of Sigma Nu.

In another fraternity first, Sigma Phi Epsilon developed the ‘Balanced Man’ program in 1991, which abolished pledgeship, instituted year-round recruitment, and lifestyle values based on the three cardinal principles for its membership (which SigEp at UCSD participates in). Additionally, SigEp was the first national fraternity to provide financial assistance to brothers for graduate school through the ‘Resident Scholar’ program.

At UCSD, SigEp is approaching its 20th anniversary in February as strong as it has ever been. As the President of SigEp at UCSD, I invite you to ask your classmates and colleagues about SigEp as our reputation as an outstanding chapter is well known throughout campus. Above all, I implore you to stop anyone you see wearing the letters Sigma Phi Epsilon, (be it on library walk, in price center, or in class) and ask him yourself what SigEp is all about. I guarantee you that the “frat-boy” image that so many of us come to UCSD with will be shattered once you speak to a brother in Sigma Phi Epsilon. 28 Fraternities 29 Tau Kappa Epsilon Frequently Asked Questions Colors: Red Cherry and Gray Why would I want to belong to a fraternity or sorority?
