Danny has over 20 years of experience in youth development and a track record of nurturing young footballers through to first team level and beyond that is second to none in the region. The pioneer of the College and Needham Market FC football Academies, he is now at the forefront of Sudbury’s Academy. He is a holder of the UEFA Advanced Coaching Licence.

Craig Power Coach

Previously part of Melford and Sudbury’s youth setups, Craig has worked on a UEFA B Coaching Licence and already holds the FA youth award. He has a wealth of experience for a younger coach. having run youth and school boy teams for a number of years. He has an excellent manner with the young players and is a very popular member of staff.

Gavin Peters Coach Joining in 2016, Gavin is an FA level 2 Qualified coach and works as a full time P.E Instructor. He’s been a successful official at Hadleigh United and Woodbridge Town F.C, and won the Suffolk F.A ‘Outstanding Contribution to Community Youth Football’ award in the 2014/2015 season.

Mike Ford Head Of Academy Rehabilitation Ford has many years’ experience covering various roles in football, including manager, assistant manager, injury therapist and at full time professional clubs scouting youth talent and 1st team opposition . Prior to re-joining AFC, he was youth development manager at Halstead Town. He currently works for the academy team, and has completed numerous sports injury courses.

David Cannon

Coach / Head of Recruitment and Education Dave is a qualified teacher for 15 years, and is the head coach of the Reserves. He has a proven track record of spotting and recruiting talent as well as the organisation skills needed for running a development team. He holds the FA Level 2 Coaching award as well as the youth module 1.

Fantastic fundraising night for the Academy USA tour

Saturday night saw the camels arrive and the tote open at AFC ! There were around 130 punters in attendance, all looking to back the winning jockeys- made up from players, over 50s, supporters, children and coaching staff. The action packed even- ing was kindly hosted by Dave Mann from BBC Radio Suffolk. Adam Dunnage managed to be crowned top jockey, winning all of his races with his camels owner, Ricky Cornish, cheering from the crowd.

The evening was kindly sponsored by Richard Smith and the AFC Sudbury Vice Presidents' Club, along with DM ELECTRICAL.
