We look forward to welcoming a new Foundation Dentist because we are a progressive practice and we want to go further! We will provide everything you need to improve your existing skills and develop new ones. You will not simply be ‘another pair of hands’ but will have an opportunity to help guide our direction over the next year.

The Practice: Located in a pleasant suburb of Manchester there has been a dental practice in the building for around 30 years, but in recent times it has been completely refurbished and extended.

You will find all the things you would expect in modern dentistry: computerised, digital radiography, rotary endodontics, apex locator etc. But we are always looking to improve and you will be able to help shape that process with your own ideas. As we speak we are in the process of integrating tablet computers into our digital setup! For cases that need extra technical support we work closely with an excellent laboratory (an ‘opinion leader’ for Ivoclar) situated within walking distance of the practice.

Aside from general dentistry we regularly place and restore dental implants. We also have a physiotherapist who has a special interest in orofacial pain and TMD. In the rest of the team we have a dental therapist, extended duties nurse, and part-time associate. Together with our nurses it is a very friendly group and you will be well looked after!

The Educational Supervisor/Principal Dentist: Charles Crawford graduated from Manchester in 2001, gaining his MFGDP(UK) in 2004. He works a day a week at Dental Hospital on the clinic treating Temporomandibular Disorders. He has been an ES in Foundation Training since 2010, and is a tutor for the Occlusion modules of the Smile-on/University of Manchester MSc in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. He is currently studying for an MSc in Pain Management.

The area: Urmston is a busy town 15-20 minutes from . The shops are in walking distance of the practice and the Centre is only a 5 minute drive away! The M60 (J9 or J10) is five minutes away and there is a direct train line to Oxford Road station.
