Security in Cloud Computing A Security Assessment of Cloud Computing Providers for an Online Receipt Storage Mats Andreassen Kåre Marius Blakstad Master of Science in Computer Science Submission date: June 2010 Supervisor: Lillian Røstad, IDI Norwegian University of Science and Technology Department of Computer and Information Science Problem Description We will survey some current cloud computing vendors and compare them to find patterns in how their feature sets are evolving. The start-up firm dSafe intends to exploit the promises of cloud computing in order to launch their business idea with only marginal hardware and licensing costs. We must define the criteria for how dSafe's application can be sufficiently secure in the cloud as well as how dSafe can get there. Assignment given: 14. January 2010 Supervisor: Lillian Røstad, IDI Abstract Considerations with regards to security issues and demands must be addressed before migrating an application into a cloud computing environment. Different vendors, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google AppEngine, provide different capabilities and solutions to the individual areas of concern presented by each application. Through a case study of an online receipt storage application from the company dSafe, a basis is formed for the evaluation. The three cloud computing vendors are assessed with regards to a security assessment framework provided by the Cloud Security Alliance and the application of this on the case study. Finally, the study is concluded with a set of general recommendations and the recommendation of a cloud vendor. This is based on a number of security as- pects related to the case study’s existence in the cloud. -

E-mail ID: [email protected] Abstract Amulya Malladi is a diasporic Indian writer in English and she is very famous for her seven novels namely A Breath of Fresh Air (2002), The Mango Season (2003), Serving Crazy with Curry (2004), Song of the Cuckoo Bird (2005), The Sound of Language (2007), A House for Happy Mothers (2016) and The Copenhagen Affair (2017). She received her bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad India and master degree in Journalism from the University of Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Her novels have been translated into many languages like Dutch, German, Spanish, Danish, Romanian, Serbian and Tamil. Literature is an artistic creation especially in a written form with high and lasting merits. Although there are various literatures globally, the Indian writing in English has its unique taste among the readers. It is an amalgam of multilingual, multicultural and socio-historical themes. They are the exquisite creations of the Indian writers in English language. It also includes the works of the Indian diasporic writers. Malladi’s novels mainly focus on misunderstanding between two generations, changing status of women, family tension, conflict between modernity and traditional values, elusive nature of mind, etc. The Mango season is a dramatic portrayal of a modern young woman Priya, who must ultimately decide between the dogmatic tradition and heartfelt emotions. -

York Rady School of Management and Jacobs School of Engineering, University of California San Diego, La Jolla, California, USA and 333 Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University, Piscataway, Received 30 January 2020 New Jersey, USA, and Revised 24 August 2020 Kaley Lugo, Lukasz Jarosz and Michael Toscani Accepted 4 February 2021 Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University, Piscataway, New Jersey, USA Abstract Purpose – The purpose of this teaching case study is to change to examine how Amazon’sthreatmay impact the pharmacy industry as a whole and whether traditional drugstore chains such as Consumer Value Stores (CVS) Health will need to re-think their business strategy, especially in the digital space, to account for potential disruption. Design/methodology/approach – This paper presents a hypothetical case study used as a teaching exercise to guide the learner through a decision-making process. The case starts by presenting a disruption in the retail pharmacy business that the main character must navigate by using real-world data and insights, provided in the case, to formulate a recommendation. Findings – In an extremely competitive and consolidated pharmacy market, Amazon has the potential to change the business entirely. CVS Health will potentially face strong headwinds from Amazon’s PillPack and a downward trend in prescription sales. Regardless of the new competition, CVS Health continues to be innovative in the space. -
