§ In general, fix up what’s there before developing new plans.
Preserve
§ Buildings: Saint Casimir Church, Henry Hanger building
§ Any open space
§ Fire station
§ Diversity, mixed use

§ Manufacturing/employment sites (many people who live in the neighborhood also work there)
§ Affordable housing
Transportation
§ Decrease traffic and congestion
§ Increase parking, including on-street. Commercial vs residential.
§ Address dead-end streets in the Jackson Square area
§ Fill in the Hudson Street/Commercial Street underpass, get rid of jersey barriers.
§ Improve traffic flow on Main to diminish cut-thrus.
§ Need a signal at Allds/East Hollis, Temple at East Hollis intersection, Marshall/Commercial cut- through
§ Traffic needs to be slowed in the district, especially on Allds or residential streets.
§ The proposed new bridge over the Merrimack to the north is necessary.
§ Grade separating the roads from the rail would prevent traffic congestion from the trains.

Streetscape
§ Reclaim the sidewalks on East Hollis Street. Add street trees along the sidewalk to soften the sun and encourage walking.
§ Improve the crossings to the park at Marshall and Bowers
§ Extend rail trail network

§ Noise concerns - move the rail yard activity away from residences.
§ New rail station will cause/degrade traffic conditions (more cars, trains blocking road, parking supply)
§ Rail station will not serve neighborhood, may contribute to gentrification.
§ Retail/services associated with train station a benefit.
Commercial/Industrial
§ Fix up abandoned and run down buildings such as the Triangle Pacific and Hangar properties.
