World Sight Day – 13th Oct, 2011

456 million people in India have problems with their vision which need to be corrected. The numbers are large and need to be tackled immediately. To throw focus on visual impairment and blindness, the second Thursday of October is annually designated as World Sight Day. On October 13, 2011, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya marked this day with free eye screening and awareness program in Mahila Samiti, Sadguru Samiti and all 24 Sadguru Vision Centres. Patients with refractive error were provided spectacles and referral done for those in need of surgical intervention.

35th Annual MPSOS conference: 14th Oct – 16th Oct, 2011

18 Ophthalmic Surgeons of Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya actively participated in 35th Annual MPSOS conference, held at Indore between 14th Oct – 16th Oct, 2011. They presented 1 poster, 14 papers and 1 video largest in number by any participating institution. Dr. B.K.Jain, Director SNC, gave a presentation on “Outstanding services in rural areas ”.

PMOA workshop: 17 – 22nd October, 2011

28th batch of Paramedical Ophthalmic Assistants (PMOAs) underwent 6 days refresher training program during October month. Total 09 participants from Chhatisgarh participated in training program. The main purpose of the training program is to orient the Government Paramedical ophthalmic assistants on skills pertaining to primary eye care delivery and expose them to recent advances in ophthalmology at primary, secondary and tertiary care level.

Inauguration of 87th Tara Netra Daan Yagna‐

Tara Netra Yagna is a base hospital surgical eye camp started by the founder ‘Gurudev’ during early 1950’s and since then it has been celebrated as yearly event by Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust. Trustee, Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, Shri N.B.Lohani inaugurated the Tara Netra Dan Yagna at Chitrakoot.

Free Plastic Surgery Camp: 20/10/2011 Jankikund Chikitsalaya has organized Free Plastic surgery camp in support with District Collector, Satna & District Hospital, Satna on 20th Oct, 2011. Dr. Poonam Advani, Surgeon JKC and Dr. Pawan Agrawal & team, Medical College Rewa facilitated their surgical intervention in the camp. Total 49 patients got operated in this camp.

Free piles camp: 13/11/2011 Piles or haemorrhoids are one of the most common ailments today. It is a varicose and often inflammated condition of the veins, inside or just outside the rectum. In external piles, there is a lot of pain but not much bleeding. In the case of internal piles, there is discharge of dark blood. In some cases the veins burst and this results in what is known as bleeding piles. Jankikund Chikitsalaya organized free piles camp on 13th November, 2011. 78 patients were benefited through ring method done by – Dr. K. Chitania, Rajkot, Gujarat.

World Diabetes Day: 14/11/2011 World Diabetes Day was celebrated by Jankikund Chikitsalaya on 14 November with great enthusiasm. On the occasion 135 free diabetic check up was done by the clinicians of JKC. “Education and prevention” was the theme of the day. The patients got educated on the warning signs and risks associated with diabetes, knowing which can help to manage and control diabetes and what to do if we are a sufferer.

Free Dental Camp: 30th Oct – 30th Nov, 2011 The Trust organized Charity Dental Camp. Dr. Jaisukh Makwana, a renowned dentist of Rajkot, Gujarat and Professor in University treated the patients for extraction with ‘Jalandhar Bandh ’. He demonstrated that this procedure is painless and bloodless, even diabetic; High Blood Pressure patients can easily be treated through this procedure without any risk.

Free Hernia Camp: 29 & 30/11/2011

Jankikund chikitsalaya has organized free Hernia camp on 29th & 30th Nov, 2011. Dr. Poonam Advani, Surgeon JKC did 78 surgeries in the camp.

World AIDS Day celebration: 1st Dec, 2011 World AIDS Day, observed on December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. The RED RIBBON is an international symbol of AIDS awareness was worn by the clinical staff of Jankikund Chikitsalaya to demonstrate care and concern about HIV and AIDS, and to remind others of the need for their support and commitment. On the occasion a CME and Awareness program was organized by the Clinicians and the nursing students of Sadguru Institute of nursing and paramedical science to generate awareness amongst the community.

Family Planning (Laproscopic tubectomy) Camp: 22/12/2011

Laparoscopic tubectomy surgery in India is considered as the safest method for permanent pregnancy control. Jankikund Chikitsalaya has organized 3 LTT camps on 9, 22 and 31 Dec, 2011. Dr. M.M.Pandey, Chief Surgeon, District Hospital, Satna performed the procedures. Total 69 patients were benefited from the camp.

Shree Raghuveer Mandir Trust- Chitrakoot

Annakoot Mahotsav celebration at Raghuveer Mandir – 27/10/2011 Under the aegis of the Trust, Raghuveer Mandir Trust celebrated Annakoot Mahotsav on 27th November, 2011. On this day many varieties of food items were offered to Lord for prosperity of life, this day is also called "ANNAKOOT" meaning heap of food items. Shri Raghuveer Mandir Trust offered around 508 types of food times to Lord Krishna with various and hymns. Later the food was distributed as PRASAD (Food item filled with divine positive energy by the glance of GOD) among devotees and in the form of ‘Bhandara’. The celebrations were shared by Gurubhais and Sadguru Parivar on the occasion with lot of joy and happiness.

Gopashtmi Celebration: 03rd November, 2011 Gopastami or Gopashtami vrat is observed on eighth day in bright half of month (Kartik Shukla Astami). Pradakshina around the cow (circumambulation) is most beneficial ritual of Gopastami festival. Trust celebrated Gopastami on 03rd November 2011. On the occasion Smt. Usha Jain and Gurubhais from all over India celebrated the festival.

Tulsi Vivah – The Ritual: 06th Nov, 2011 The symbolic wedding ritual of Tulsi vivah is performed in the evening. Devotees fast till the dusk and take up devotional activities as soon as the sun is down. Tulsi plant is decorated with flowers and all other paraphernalia of a bride. Amongst vedic mantras the sacred marriage is performed at auspicious time. Delicacies cooked are offered to Tulsi and prasad is distributed among the devotees. Shri Raghuveer Mandir Trust celebrated the Tulsi Vivah with Bhagwan . Devotees of Gurudev from all over India & abroad and Sadguru Parivar joined celebration of Tulsi Vivah.

Inauguration of Gau Seva Kendra: 14th Dec, 2011

Under the aegis of the Trust 5 new sheds Gauri, Krishna, Rukmani, and Gopi were inaugurated by Mata Amritanand, Hoshiarpur and Pujya shri Shrawanand ji maharaj, . These sheds has been made by the contribution of Pinakin Thakkar, Raju Bhai, Doli Ben and Manish Ram Bhai Gokani, all from Mumbai, for protection of the cow from rainy, hot and cold season.

World Sight Day Sadguru Institute of Paramedical Sciences celebrated World Sight Day on 13th October 2011. This event was an annual reminder for take eye care seriously, mobilize support to prevent and treat avoidable blindness to rehabilitate visually impaired people so they can live with dignity and independence. Pride of Sadguru Shiksha Samiti

One student of Sadguru Public School and three students from Vidhyadham School have got Rajya Puraskar under the guidance of Scout teacher Mr. R.G. Vishwakarma. The program was held at Bharat Scout and Guide, State Training Center, Gandhinagar, Bhopal on 20th Oct, 2011. Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh State, Shri Ram Naresh Yadav presented the award.

New born baby care week

Sadguru School of Nursing celebrated New born baby care week from 15 - 21 November 2011, Students presented variety of poster, charts and teaching aids regarding new born care to reduce early death during neonatal period dated on 17th November in multipurpose hall. 19th November 3rd year students delivered health talk related with care of new born baby and how to reduce IMR in Jankikund Chikitsalaya. Overall, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in our country is 70 per 1000 live births.

World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day falling on 1 December each year provides an opportunity for institutions and individuals to spread awareness about the status of this pandemic and help prevention, treatment and care of HIV/AIDS. The theme was “Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Discrimination, Zero AIDS related Deaths”. This day was celebrated Sadguru School of Nursing in the form of poster exhibition and role play conducted by nursing students with distribution of IEC material and red ribbon in the premises of Jankikund Chikitsalaya.

Children’s day celebration

Under the aegis of the trust, Sadguru Shiksha Samiti celebrated 14th November as a birthday of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. On the occasion various Cultural programs and Food stalls were presented by the students. The students of nursing and paramedical, Vidyadham, Sadguru Public School, Shri Ram Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya exhibited health related posters and models with providing facilities of Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and Vision checkup. Students also prepared diabetic diet and awareness regarding act on diabetes.

Visit of Ramdev Baba to SSST: 21/11/2011

A renowned yoga expert Ramdev ji visited trust on 21st Nov, 2011. During his visit he had an overlook on the trust activities. He appreciated the work done by the trust in the field of healthcare and rural development programs.

Sadguru Sankalp Netra Chikitsalaya- Anandpur

COSI annual symposium

Two day 5th annual symposium of the Community Ophthalmology Society of India (COSI) was organized at Sadguru Sankalp Netra Chikitsalaya, Anandpur to discuss various models and strategies for effective inter-sectoral collaboration in primary eye health care. The proceedings started with a documentary to pay tribute to Late Shri Arvind Bhai Mafatlal, former Chairman, Sri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust. Dr.Col. Deshpande,Dr. G. V. Rao, ,Dr. V.A.Joshi, and Dr. Praveen Vashist were also present during the occasion.

COSI Award 2011

COSI 2011 bestowed SSNC with 7th Dr. R.K.Seth Memorial award for excellence in community eye care on 26th Nov 2011. The award endeavors to honor each year an organization that has, in keeping with high ideals of R.K.Seth.

Anandpur Outreach camp

The 4th Anandpur Outreach Program was held from 24th-28th Dec. A team of volunteers led by Sukrut bhai Jobanputra and Parth Bhai Sejpal from Bombay to conduct various activities such as: Distribution of Household Items; and Blankets, Eye Screening, Dental Camp. Shri N. B. Lohani, Dr. Vishnubhai Jobanputra, and other gurubhais – bens were present at the inaugural function.

3 - Steps Rhythmic Breathing (3 SRB) Exercise Program:

The 3 SRB program was conducted by Shri Bahadur Singhji from Madhavpur, Gujarat from 24th-28th December 2012. It was attended by ophthalmologists, staff members, guru bhai-bens and various visiting guests. The program comprised of a 1 hour session in morning and evening every day where the 3 SRB techniques was explained and practiced.

Our tributes to Late Shri Arvind.N.Mafatlal

Arvind bhai left for heavenly abode on October 30, 2011 at 7:10 AM. This is viewed as a showered on him, as he wished to leave this world at Chitrakoot and with the and on the feet of Param Pujya Shri Ranchhodasji Maharaj. During his discussion with ‘Gurudev’ Arvind bhai wished no more rebirth and only . Today being the birth anniversary of ‘Gurudev’ depicts how GOD wished Arvind bhai to reach heaven and with a sense of happiness and with all his blessings in the Bhoomi of Chitrakoot. He is leaving behind many facets of life the prominent being a REAL SAINT LIFE who always believed in Gurudev and who wished to help downtrodden rural people. His last breath left with the words of RAM RAM.
