Murmurs Surround Giggsy’s Award In 2007 the multi-award winning director Martin Scorsese won his very fi rst Best Director Oscar for the fi lm The Departed. Although not as good as the Hong Kong action-thriller Infernal Affairs, upon which it was based, The Departed is without doubt a well made fi lm which was certainly award worthy.
