Revolution #WhoMadeMyClothes and why do so many suffer in the Blog Posts - Mary Beth From My process? Monday to Friday Bed: What are the powerful structures that allow for this? (Blog location Collective And what can we practically do, during a period of lockdown Social Takeover - TBC, Instagram Action in and isolation, to create meaningful change? Saturday 12-5pm Posts/Stories Unified and Facebook Isolation Through a five-part blog series, Mary Beth will discuss the Posts) plethora of human rights violations that have quietly come to define the global clothing and textiles supply chain, untangling the complex relationship between business, law, policy, gender and culture.

These blogs will take an ongoing focus on what we can do, from here in Scotland, to demand that the people who make our clothes are visible and their human rights are respected.

The unique set of circumstances within the COVID-19 pandemic have undoubtedly turned our lives upside-down. But it is more important now, than ever before, for us to understand the experiences of the most vulnerable, and work out what we should do to help.

Revolution From My Bed will end with a social media takeover on Saturday 25th April. We will find out ways to take Collective Action, from home, to offset the severe impacts of COVID-19 on garment workers and others throughout the supply chain.

Mary Beth Graham is a passionate activist for the realisation of human rights for garment workers throughout the industry. After graduating with a First Class Honours from International Fashion Branding, she recognised the need for further research into the legal obligations of states and brands to respect all of those in the fashion industry’s supply chains. Mary Beth went on to pursue a Masters in Law, focussed on the application of International Human Rights Law within global business, and particularly within garment facturing. She continues to volunteer for FR Scotland, and in her day job, works for The Scottish Women’s Convention as an Events and Policy Advisor, where she works closely with women throughout Scotland to ensure that their voices are heard by key policy- and decision-makers.

Izzie Join ApparelXchange for this Stitch and Bitch session Wednesday 12 - Izzie Erickson Apparel where we explore the challenges of our relationship with 1pm clothes. And try to answer questions like why we have Xchange become so disconnected to our clothing, what drives this behaviour and how do we challenge and take back control. Stitch & This discussion could take us deep into our sense of style, our lost creativity and giving up our Bitch individuality to the high street... or something entirely different. Zoom Bring something to fix, have a cup of tea ready and let’s talk.
