Kennedy went on to coach at Murray State for five seasons, leading the Racers to two Ohio Valley Conference championships and the 2009-10 NCAA Tournament. He has been the head coach at Texas A&M for the past five seasons, leading the Aggies to a share of the Southeastern Conference title and the NCAA Tournament in 2015-16. Kennedy returned to the campus during Homecoming week in mid-October and spoke to the 2016-17 squad and members of the Lion Athletics Association Hardwood Club.
