. The state’s economy witnessed high growth rates between 2015-16 and 2019-20, with GSDP of the state Strong economy growing at a CAGR of 12.70%. Cumulative FDI inflow in the state amounted to US$ 605 million between April 2000 and March 2020.

. Odisha has emerged as a key state with regards to the mineral and metal-based industries. At 40.7% in Strong mineral 2018-19, Odisha contributed the largest share of mineral production in India in terms of value*. Value* of production minerals produced in the state reached Rs. 30,170.22 (US$ 4.28 billion) in 2018-19.

Strong growth in MSME . The state is home to a large number of MSME units. The state is amongst the top ten states accounting for units the highest number of MSME enterprises.

. Biju Patnaik Airport, is located in the state capital, Bhubaneswar. In November 2013, the airport was declared an international airport by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. . Direct links are available from Bhubaneswar to destinations such as New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Nagpur, Mumbai and Hyderabad. In addition, there are 17 airstrips and 16 helipads at several places in the state.

. In 2019, has been made fully operational with around five flights operating and airport with 5,900 ft runway has been made ready for operation of the 19 sitter flights.

. Under Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme, four airstrips are proposed by the Government. These are at Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Utkela and Jeypore.
