However, there is little or no work on cardiac anatomy in Indigenous dog breeds of Tamil Nadu such as Rajapalayam. Rajapalayam dog Vertebral heart which is a unique medium-sized, sight hound breed of Rajapalayam region in the score, Indigenous dog, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar district of southern Tamil Nadu. In the present study, Vertebral heart score Heart, Radiography (VHS) was measured by thoracic radiographs of left and right lateral recumbency. A total of 12 dogs (young -6 and adult-6) were used for the study. The mean VHS on right lateral Article Info radiographs was found to be 9.07 and 9.08 vertebrae in young and adult dogs respectively. Accepted: Whereas, the mean VHS on left lateral radiographs was found to be 9.10 and 9.08 10 January 2019 vertebrae in young and adult dogs respectively.
