The National Jazz Festival inspires middle and high school musicians to take jazz to the next level through education, collaboration, and celebration. After an exciting and successful 2020 inaugural festival in Philadelphia, we were determined to forge ahead with our mission despite the myriad complications in the world. Our team of volunteers strived to learn new ways to interact with our participants. We have had tremendous, and unexpected, success in school participation and in developing content for the festival. Our reach has spread from coast to coast. We are thrilled to welcome these new states to the festival: California, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Two new categories -- SmartMusic with Gordon Goodwin and members of the Big Phat Band and Individual Soloists sponsored by ArtistWorks -- and our enriching masterclasses open up opportunities for bolstering music education and celebrating our participants’ individual efforts. Virtually, and in spirit, we are together this year.

We are excited to announce that the 3rd annual National Jazz Festival will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on March 12, 2022 where we return face to face. Support our mission to provide this much needed annual jazz festival for our young musicians as a participator, sponsor, exhibitor, advertiser, supporter, benefactor, educator or volunteer.

Randy Brecker Jazz trumpeter and composer Randy Brecker has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B and rock for more than four decades. His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Parliament/Funkadelic to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius and Frank Zappa.

Marc Dicciani Marc Dicciani is Dean of the College of Performing Arts at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, past Director of the School of Music at UArts, and a professor of drumset and music business. He is also a very busy professional drummer and clinician with dozens of international concert dates and clinics throughout the year.

Drew Zaremba Selmer artist Drew Zaremba is quickly earning a worldwide reputation as a passionate conductor, award-winning writer, and fiery performer. As a writer, he has composed and arranged pieces for the BBC Orchestra, Metropole Orkest, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, Randy Brecker, Lee Loughane of Chicago, Chuck Findley, Eddie Gomez, the Vietnam Classical Players, the Pyramid Jazz Orchestra in Japan, and Erin Dickins of the Manhattan Transfer.
