SCOPE for bringing NGOs under ambit of CAG & RTI

Choubey, Director General, SCOPE emphasized the need of bringing those NGOs who are utilizing public money for CSR under the ambit of CAG and RTI and undertake social audit through an independent agency.

Dr. Choubey highlighted the contribution of public sector enterprises towards CSR. PSEs have undertaken CSR activity in letter and spirit. Dr. Choubey informed that CPSEs incurred about Rs. 4,100 crore during 2015-16 as against Rs.2450 crore in 2014-15. He emphasized the need of larger proportion of allocation under CSR to rural areas as around 70 percent of our population

Dr. U.D. Choubey, Director General, SCOPE informed that during 2016-17, savings in power consumption was 2.09 million units against 1.12 million units This has been possible by i) effective monitoring of power in the corresponding previous year (2015-16). In terms of money saved was consumption, ii) replacement of conventional lights by LED Rs. Rs. 2.19 crores against Rs. 1.23 crores in 2015-16. In the last five years, lights, iii) overall energy consciousness, and iv) energy such efforts by SCOPE and its Constituents have resulted into a saving of 6.57 efficient equipments. inistry of External Affairs, Government of India extended Mits support to Royal Government of Cambodia for “Supply and Installation of Hand Pumps for Augmentation of Rural Water Supply in Cambodia” leading to safe drinking water supply and health improvement of the targeted communities. WAPCOS Limited has been entrusted with the work of Installation of 1500 Hand Pumps for augmentation of Rural Water Supply, in Tbong Khmum, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Chhang and Svay Rieng Provinces.

16th Artificial Limb Camp in MRPL SAIL Chairman dedicates ‘Shilpangan’ to the society

India and France sign Memorandum of Understanding on Civil Aviation

r. P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister of Civil Aviation of India, Mrecently received H.E. Mr. Alain Vidalies, French Minister of State for Transport, Marine Affairs and Fisheries, who was on an official visit to India recently to strengthen Indo-French cooperation on transport.

In the presence of the two ministers, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) was signed to further the active technical cooperation programme between the two countries. Providing for exchanges of officials and the sharing of technical know-how, the agreement will be beneficial for the long-term enhancement of skills and expertise. to India, representing the French side, and Mr. A. The scope of work under Gosikhurd National Project in Maharashtra includes upgradation of Civic Amenities of Rehabilitation Villages, Right Bank Canal, Canal and Distribution System of Nerla and Mokhabardi LIS etc. This First Phase of project will likely to be completed in approx. 18 months.
