It seems a long time ago now, but early in December, Gun- diah Oval came alive when between 400-500 people attended the 2nd annual Carols in the Country event and got right into the Christmas Spirit. The Salvation Army Band started off the evening of first class entertainment, which also included twi- light markets, facepainting, jumping castles and live Nativity. The “Voices of Brisbane” –a 50 voice choir, filled the air with a joyous chorus. Our Fraser Coast Regional Band and Singers, Melissa Gill–soloist and the absolutely fabulous local schools’ choir made it worthy of any regional city. International Coun- try Music Album Award Winner, Lex K led the evening. Members of the choir from Brisbane were very excited about being at Gundiah and were commenting about the miriad of stars in the heavens and the beautiful bush air. They have promised to return next year! 2016 Carols prom- ises to be even better! The committee wishes to thank Phil Truscott, Leon Nehow, Dave from Wide Bay Sound & Lighting, and the many generous sponsors for their valuable support.
