Royal Three Counties Show Badge

Rainbows must complete all of the following sections to earn this badge: 1. Attend one day at Royal Three Counties Show (14-16 June 2019). 2. Watch one of the acts taking place in the Main Arena. 3. Find our ‘Meet the Groom’ stand and ask a question to learn more about caring for horses. 4. Get involved with the Western Power Distribution’s interactive displays and pick up a free gift. 5. Walk the grain chain with LEAF Education and make your own flour. 6. Visit the ‘Ask the Farmer’ marquee and learn about rare breeds of livestock. 7. Learn about thermal imaging with Hartpury College.

Brownies must complete all of the following sections (1-7) to earn this badge and two options from section 8. 1. Attend one day at Royal Three Counties Show (14-16 June 2019). 2. Watch one of the acts taking place in the Main Arena. 3. Brownies must visit both of the following in the Hub: a. Head over to the College of Arts stand and find out about Herefordshire artist Brian Hatton. b. Find out how produce is grown in Herefordshire with Freshfields Fruit. 4. Visit the ‘Ask the Farmer’ marquee and learn about rare breeds of livestock. 5. Walk the grain chain with LEAF Education and make your own flour. 6. Visit the Fur, Feather, Farm area and find out about the four different types of goat we have on site. 7. Go on the Wonderful Water Tour with Severn Trent.

8. Brownies must choose two of the following options to complete: a. Book a 30 minute slot with NMiTE Ingenuity Studio to build a 3D model of Studio 1 in SketchUp. Walk the food production process chain with the Royal Agricultural University.

Guides must complete all of the following sections (1-6) to earn this badge and two options from section 7. 1. Attend one day at Royal Three Counties Show (14-16 June 2019). 2. Visit the Farming Village and find the breed boards around the judging rings. Learn about a new breed and remember a fact about it that can be discussed with your patrol group. 3. Guides must visit both of the following: a. Visit the army stand and take part in a mechanics activity. b. Learn a new skill with the Woodvilles Medieval Camp.

4. Walk the food production process chain with the Royal Agricultural University. 5. Watch the Farriery and Blacksmithing competition down in the forge. 6. Go on the Wonderful Water Tour with Severn Trent. 7. Guide s must choose two of the following options to complete: a. Get a close up view of the animals and their owners. This is the perfect opportunity to ask how the animals are trained. d. Learn about thermal imaging with Hartpury College.

The badges can be completed on the 14th – 16th June 2019 at the Royal Three Counties Show. Address is as follows: Three Counties Showground, Blackmore Park Road, Malvern, , WR13 6NW. This challenge badge can be worn for one year from achievem ent and must be placed on the left arm. Please note that the badge criteria may be subject to change.

Please note that spaces are limited and applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis. If any additional parent tickets are required the cheque must be sent along with the application form to secure the places.
