Tuesday, March 3

The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is an annual event at the Convention Center in March. It is the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show, attracting more than 260,000 people annually. The Show features large-scale gardens, elaborate landscapes, and over- the-top floral creations.

Visitor Suggestions First time to the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show? Here are some tips to make the most of your experience. Dress for the occasion. There’s a lot to see, so comfortable shoes are a must. Dress in layers as it can get chilly on the Show floor. Take notes. Jot down the name of plants you like or the contact information of exhibitors, or snap a photo of your favorite exhibits. Identify yourself. If you are a PHS member, bring your Membership ID, which entitles you to discounts at the Flower Show Store and other retail locations. Plan the day. Check the schedule of events on the Flower Show App, website, or upon arrival at the Convention Center. There are lectures, demonstrations, culinary displays, book signings, and more that you don’t want to miss. Make a shopping list. The Flower Show is a shopper’s paradise. Think ahead to Spring and what you might want for the months ahead. Throwing a party? Planning a garden bed? Considering a new hobby? Redecorating a room?

Rip Van Winkle

Thursday, July 9

Come join us today for the ride of a lifetime.

When a scenic train ride was established in Arkville, NY in 1986, the excursion was dubbed the Delaware & Ulster. The name was a nod to the historic Ulster & Delaware Railroad that had rolled along the same tracks for more than a century.

The path of the Ulster & Delaware wound trains from Kingston Point on the Hudson River, through the Catskill Region and ultimately to Oneonta in the Susquehanna Valley.

The U&D was originally chartered as the Rondout & Oswego and was reorganized three years later as the , Kingston and Syracuse. The line became the Ulster & Delaware in 1875 and track to Oneonta was completed in 1900. A “High Caliber” lunch will be provided on the train.

Virginia Beach

Monday-Thursday, October 19-22

Day One Today, enjoy the fall scenery while travel to Virgina Beach. Check in to your hotel, which is Oceanfront and enjoy a fantastic dinner at Shoreline Grill. Day Two After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a guided tour of Chesapeake Bay with a visit to the Aqua Farm. After, you will enjoy shopping and a light stroll along the quaint streets of Cape Charles. Included is a light pastry at a nearby family run coffee shop. This afternoon, enjoy a 2 hour narrated tour aboard the Victory Rover. Cruise the smooth waters of the Elizabeth River and Hampton Roads Harbor while the Captain provides a fascinating and entertaining commentary. We will then return to the hotel and you will have free time to enjoy the beach and boardwalk. Dinner will be on your own this evening. Day Three Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning. After, we will visit Smithfield, a quaint river port town rich in Hams, History, and Hospitality. Step onto Main Street in our Historic District and step into a time long gone. A time when people acknowledged each other by name, the ice cream parlor or candy store was the center of every child’s universe, and Southern Hospitality was the unwritten rule. Lunch will be at the Smithfield Inn. At the time of groundbreaking, Smithfield’s bustling wharf harbor had

become a popular destination for clipper ships bringing goods from the old world to the new. We will also tour the Military Aviation Museum. The Military Aviation Museum is home to one of the largest private collections of the World War One and World War Two era military aircraft in the world. Each has been beautifully restored to its prior military condition, using original parts whenever possible. Most of the planes are airworthy and flown at the museum during the flight demonstrations and at air shows through the year. Dinner this evening will be at the Rockefeller's restaurant, overlooking a picturesque inlet. Day Four Breakfast will be provided at the hotel this morning. We will depart for home after breakfast with everyone taking home great memories.
