The Servagnin

The Servagnin arrived in Switzerland thanks to Marie de Bourgogne, wife of the Duke of Savoy. She offered plants of her favourite wine to the inhabitants of Saint-Prex, who had welcomed her when the plague was raging on the other side of Lake Geneva. Nowadays, only vines planted with Pinot Noir, a St-Prex Salvagnin clone located in the Morges appellation area, are entitled to the Servagnin de Morges appellation.
