Painting: "Rhodes, Turkish Square." by Ray Evans. We think it is pen and ink with watercolour. Picture 55 x 40 cm. With frame: 62.5 x 48 cm

Notes: Ray Evans was a painter and illustrator, born at Hale in Cheshire. He studied in Florence at the end of World War II and also attended Manchester College of Art and Design, 1946-48, and Heatherley's under Iain MacNab, 1948- 50. He has produced calendars, prints and paintings for Art for Offices, British Rail, British Petroleum, Whitbread, Abbey National and others and has also lectured at Southampton College of Art 1955-66. He showed at the RA, RBA, RWA, RI and RCamA, the latter two societies having elected him a member in 1967 and 1998 respectively. His work is represented in the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth and in the collection of Winchester Art Gallery.
