4 Hour Self Defense Course Learn how to respond to aggressive behavior utilizing de-escalation for Beginners strategies, tactical positioning, distraction techniques, pressure points, blocks, and defensive counter-strikes. (4 hours)

GSPP 100A Ground School This course is designed to help high school and adult students evaluate for Prospective Pilots the exciting field of aviation as a career or hobby. The program prepares students to successfully pass the FAA private pilot written exam. Upon passing completion of the course, students will receive an endorsement to take the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam. Participants interested in pursuing flight lessons must make non-affiliated, separate arrangements with qualified flying schools.(48 hr. course)

Minimum age: 16 Required: Students must purchase their own “Private Pilot Kit” — Part 61; ASA Recommended. Approximate cost, $90.00.

Basic Electrical for the Home Learn basic electrical skills every homeowner should know. Participants will learn basic techniques stripping wire, turning off circuits and testing for voltage, how to wire an outlet and a single pole switch. These basic skills are the start to some of our more in-depth electrical courses. (3 hour session)

Directions: TEC KidNections! courses are designed to familiarize parents/caregivers and their children with the wonderful world of Career and Technical Education or “CTE.” CV-TEC has served thousands of students from more than a dozen North Country School Districts for over 60 years! We are proud to make our CTE classrooms and our teachers available so that they might share their expertise with you and so that you and your family members might better understand the service we provide to our communities each day.

TEC KidNections! Courses have been designed for one parent/caregiver alone or for one parent/caregiver with up to 2 children. In this way, we hope to ensure that each participant obtains the maximum amount of CTE exposure!

The cost per course is calculated at $10 per contact hour (Per Seat: Adult or Child). Children with an accompanying adult will receive a reduced cost of $5 per contact hour per seat. Children 12-18 may participate. *Restrictions apply and costs may vary due to materials and supplies. ______
