Temporary Closure of A367 White Post Roundabout, A367 Fosse Way, B3139 White Post to Charlton Road and B3139 Wells Road
TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along A367 White Post Roundabout, A367 Fosse Way, B3139 White Post to Charlton Road and B3139 Wells Road. Fosse Way from 40 metres north of White Post Roundabout to 60 metres south west of White Post Roundabout to B3139 White Post to Charlton Road from White Post Roundabout eastwards for 40 metres and B3139 Wells Road from White Post Roundabout westwards for 50 metres and the full extent of the roundabout a distance of 310 metres.
This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out resurfacing works in this road.
The Order becomes effective on 09 June 2014 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to last for 3 nights between 19:00 and 07:00 hours. Vehicles over 4.6mtrs 15’0” high travelling west from Kilmersdon are to be escorted through site. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
From the southern end of the closure proceed in a south westerly direction along the A367 to the junction with the A37. Turn right and proceed in a northerly direction along the A37 to the junction with the A39. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly direction along the A39 to the junction with the A362. Turn right and proceed in an easterly direction along the A362 to the junction with the A367. Turn right and proceed in a south westerly direction along the A367 to the northern end of the closure, and vice versa. Access to Chilcompton and Kilmersdon will be via the B3139.
