Whitby Rural Crime Figures for May 2019

Crime/Incident Breakdown

MULGRAVE GGN

07/05/2019 – Runswick Bay – Sometime between 4th May - 7th May 2019 unknown suspects have approached an unoccupied premises at Runswick Bay which is undergoing restoration and forced entry through a boarded up doorway then stolen a 110 volt Transformer, Sthil saw, Angle Grinder, jemmy bar and blow lamp. No suspects have been identified and no further lines of enquiry.

10/05/2019 – Roxby – Sometime between 12th April 2019 - 10th May 2019 unknown persons have approached a field near to Roxby and stolen between 50 – 60 sheep before making off unseen in unknown direction.. No suspects have been identified and no further lines of enquiry.

13/05/2019 – Dalehouse – Sometime between 12th May 2019 – 13th May 2019 unknown persons have stolen the cast iron sign which was situated at the end of the village. No suspects have been identified and no further lines of enquiry.

17/05/2019 – – Sometime between 10th May 2019 - 17th May 2019 unknown persons have approached a Farmyard at Hutton Mulgrave and stolen 30 – 35 sheep hurdles before making off unseen in unknown direction, No suspects have been identified and no further lines of enquiry.

05/2019 – Ugthorpe – Sometime overnight 19th – 20th May 2019 suspects have approached a Farm yard at Ugthorpe and drained the fuel tanks on Farm Machinery of 100 – 120 litres of diesel before making off unseen in unknown direction. No suspects have been identified, Police enquiries are ongoing.

23/05/2019 – Mickleby – Sometime overnight 22nd – 23rd May 2019 offenders have forced entry into outbuildings at a Farm in Mickleby and stolen a Red Honda 350 Quad Bike along with a welder and number of grinders. Police enquiries are ongoing

24/05/2019 – Staithes – Sometime overnight 23rd – 24th May 2019 unknown offenders have approached a Ford Transit van which was parked on the driveway at a property on Cliff Road

and removed a number of tools from within before making off unseen in unknown direction. Police enquiries are ongoing.

27/05/2019 – Ugthorpe – Sometime overnight 27th – 28th May 2019 offenders have approached a container at a Farm near to Coquet Nook and forced entry into it, they have then stolen a Green Honda Quad Bike from within before making off unseen. Police enquiries are ongoing.

There have been five road traffic collisions in the parish this month no injuries have been reported.

ESK VALLEY GGF

04/05/2019 – Sleights – Sometime between 20th April - 4th May 2019 suspects have approached a van which was parked on Birch Avenue and stolen a Red trials bike from the rear before making off with it, two males have been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation whilst Police enquiries continue.

There have been four road traffic collisions in the parish this month no injuries have been reported.

FYLINGDALES GGJ

07/05/2019 – Stainsacre – On 7th May 2019 around 16:40 hours unknown persons have fired what is believed to be a ball bearing gun at a property in Stainsaacre resulting in two windows being smashed. No suspects have been identified and no further lines of enquiry

14/05/2019 - Hawsker – Sometime between 21:15 – 21:45 hours on 14th May 2019 offender has stolen an Orange Scott pedal cycle from the rear of the Hare & Hounds public house. Police recovered the cycle nearby and one male was arrested on suspicion of theft . Police enquiries are ongoing.

There have been four road traffic collisions in the parish this month three resulted in no injury however a minor injury was reported to a female driver following a single vehicle collision on the A171 near to the Sneaton junction.
