The area has two greenspaces either side, so these proposals would improve access to open space for exercise. TfL - LBS Strategic Cycle Network - a bid for £391,000 for the delivery of 4 strategic cycle routes using temporary materials. These comprise Parkgate Road / Park Lane, Grove Road, West Street and Church Road.

TfL - LBS Low Traffic Neighbourhoods - a bid for £224,000 for the delivery of 3 schemes, Butter Hill, North and Worcester Park. The Butter Hill proposal builds on the 2019-20 LIP scheme and the other 2 support the Worcester Park to Sutton Cycleway scheme.

TfL - LBS Roadspace for Social Distancing - a bid for £203,000 for 7 schemes to be delivered in temporary materials that provide widened pedestrian footways, more pedestrian space and create more space for cycling in the vicinity of shops, pharmacies, a cafe and a school and where there are narrow footways. This includes a scheme of temporary traffic management measures in Hackbridge (London Road / Hackbridge Road) which at the time of writing were due to be implemented very shortly.

TfL - LBS Cycleways - a bid for £676,000 for 4 sets of measures that help deliver the to Sutton Cycleway, including completion of the Bishopsford Road toucan crossing, a segregated footway connection to St Helier hospital, Rosehill Park path and a package of 4 road closures and 20 mph speed limits on roads in the local area.

TfL - LBS LIP related schemes - a bid for £243,000 for 3 locations that are considered to meet the LSP funding criteria and were already under development as part of the 2019-20 LIP programme and officers consider can be delivered by the end of September. The 3 locations are Sparrow Farm Road / Kingsmead Avenue area, Cheam station area and Foresters Drive.

TfL - LBS School Streets- a bid for £932,000 for schemes outside 14 schools. This bid was submitted on 5th June and proposed 6 schemes would be introduced as pupils started to return to schools from 8th June, with the full 14 schemes up and running by the start of the new school year in September. One school street started on 4th June and 4 more on 11th June.

TfL - LBS Space at Town Centres - a bid for £40,000 for 4 town centre locations, 3 in Sutton town centre (2 in Throwley Way and a stretch of St Nicholas Way) and 1 in Worcester Park (beneath the railway bridge). The schemes involve reallocation of road space to widen footways to improve pedestrian space and create more space for cycling. This bid was submitted on 2nd June. The 3 schemes in Sutton town centre were installed on 31st May. The scheme in Worcester Park was installed on 29th May.

At the time of writing further bids were being prepared for Sutton town centre and Cycle Parking, as well as a final bid for 4 other short term measures that at the time of writing were due to be implemented shortly. These are: Wallington (High Street - Woodcote Road), Homeland Drive / Moore Way, Mollison Drive and Sandy Lane South.
