March 23: Death of woman due to suffocation from toxic gases used by Bahraini security forces.

1. A large section of Bahraini population took to the streets today across the nation confirming their determination for engaging in sustained popular rallies until attaining their democratic wishes. Final goals of the demonstrators are nothing short than establishing a democratic state where all can enjoy social justice and freedom.

2. Two of the rallies (the ones in Sitra and Sanabis) were attacked by security forces using tear gas.

3. Announced the death of a new victim of the victims suffocating of toxic gases, the citizen Abdat Ali Abdul-Hussein, her family confirmed her martyrdom because of suffocation as a result of toxic gases that security forces throw in the villages.

Al Wefaq called for the participation in the funeral of the martyr, Friday afternoon in the cemetery in . When relatives and people assured that the martyr inhaled toxic gases and made a report at the police station. This comes two days after condemnation of the High Commissioner of the United Nations of the Authority in for the gases used against citizens.

4. Al Wefaq issued a statement condemning the continuing targeting areas and villages by security forces in the suppression of any demonstration or protest movement calling for democracy.

As these forces attacked different regions and villages of Bahrain, drowned them with poisonous gases, chased the demonstrators and damaged property; public and private. “As a result of violent and indiscriminate repression that falls outside the scope of humanity, citizens complained of the burning of their cars in Demistan and Juffair, and a security vehicle hit a citizen’s car and caused him serious injuries, suffocation of many citizens in various areas, including a girl aged 5 months in Shahrakan village..”

5. A protest was held after Friday prayers, refusing the repeated attacks against the mosques and delaying rebuilding the demolished ones.

Clerics:” We don’t blame our sunni brothers and we know exactly who is responsible for such outrageous acts.”

6. Bahraini journalist Lamees Dhaif honored with Tully Free Speech Award.

Dhaif has worked for several newspapers in Bahrain, including Akhbar Al-Khaleej, Sadaa Al Isbou’a, Al-Qabas, Al-Afaaq and Al-Waqt.
