Project Update Peter Lougheed Centre, Calgary (Renovations-Vascular Surgery and Women’s Health)
Overview The 2018-2022 Capital Plan allocated $4.1 million to complete renovations at the Peter Lougheed Centre (Vascular Surgery and Women’s Health Units). These projects will deliver a patient-centred care model to improve access and quality of care that will meet current Alberta Health Services care standards. The project will also facilitate the transfer of improvements to services provided by the impacted Pediatrics and Hemodialysis departments. The redevelopment encompasses the consolidation, renovation and expansion of services to the existing Vascular Surgery and Women’s Health programs.

Construction Update There are three phases to the redevelopment: Phase 1 - Redevelopment of impacted departments (completed April 2014); Phase 2 - Vascular Surgery and Hybrid Operating Rooms (completed September 2015); and Phase 3 - The Women’s Health (recently renamed as Maternity Care) Units on Level 3:

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has been fully operational since May 2017. Elevator lobby work was completed in February 2018. Grand Opening was held in May 2018. New Labour and Delivery Units are fully operational as of June 2018.
Next Steps and Upcoming Activities Construction is complete and is in warranty phase.
