2 Onder Ons WORLD AIDS DAY n Monday the 1st of December an aware- ness workshop was held by the Infectious ODiseases clinic staff in collaboration with the PEPFAR project. Teenagers from grades 9 to 11 were invited from schools in the TBH drainage areas.

Adolescence is a time of enormous emotional, intellectual and physical change. These changes have an impact on their values, sexual behaviour and disregard for parental authority. This group is also at risk for pregnancy, HIV/Aids and drug abuse. The aim of the workshop was to provide information regarding values, HIV/Aids, as well as drug abuse. A workshop and Christmas lunch was held on World Aids Day for the parents and carers of HIV infected children who attend the clinic. The focus of the workshop was bereavement and deal- ing with loss. The aim was to emotionally empower these cares in order for them to support and effectively cope with their children.
