17:1864. Martin, Andre. LA "REVOLUTION DE DECEMBRE" EN POLOGNE [The "December Revolution" in Poland I. Eludes 1971 334(3): 323 - 348. Discusses the significance of Tiie"POlish December" of 1970 for the future of the Soviet bl oc. This was the first time in 50 years that the working class of a Communist country revolted, obtained its goals , and obliged a dictator literally to disappear. An attempt is made to trace the possible repercussions this revolt may elicit, particularly in relation to the development of Soviet and Chinese policy. The role in this crisis of leaders Mieczysl:aw Moczar and Edwar d Gierek is described. Finally, the nature of Poland 1 s economic subjection to Soviet industrial domination is studied. A shor t chronology of Poland' s week of crisis is appended to the text. Documented; 33 notes . S. J. Bartlett
