Anchanto partners IE to set up logistics networks in 9 countries in 2016, aims to be SEA’s top ecommerce selling and logistics platform by 2019

MR No.: 017/17 Singapore, Thursday, 4 May 2017

1. On the back of clinching the Best ecommerce Logistics Technology award at the

Global Supply Chain Excellence 2017 Awards1, ecommerce services platform provider Anchanto announced its plans to be the top ecommerce selling and logistics platform in Southeast by 2019. It hopes to gain leadership position in key Southeast Asian countries as it partners International Enterprise (IE) Singapore to grow its business overseas. Anchanto is in final discussions for investment from a company that is currently Asia's biggest ecommerce gateway with 102 operating centres across 14 countries.

2. Anchanto’s flagship product, SelluSeller, enables companies to manage listings, common inventory, order management and payments across different marketplaces worldwide. With IE Singapore’s partnership in 2016, it built strong logistics networks in nine countries including , Thailand, Vietnam, United States and United Kingdom, enhancing its cross-border fulfilment services. Anchanto is now present in 12 countries.

3. Said Mr Vaibhav Dabhade, Founder and CEO, Anchanto, “An extensive global logistics network is critical for ecommerce fulfilment companies like us. IE Singapore’s connections in markets such as Philippines, Hong Kong and Italy helped us build a complete fulfilment network to connect demand and supply markets. New York, La Roche-Posay, ASOS, New Look and WNDirect. Importantly, this has enabled us to offer cross-border fulfilment services (SelluSeller) to Lazada, our first customer. In our next stage of growth, we aim to gain market share in Southeast Asia by offering a one-stop solution to address the fragmented market.”

4. In its early years, Anchanto only had fulfilment networks in , India and Singapore. Founded in 2011 with three employees, Anchanto’s total revenue reached S$2 million in 2015 with 16 employees. Since working with IE Singapore, Anchanto has scaled exponentially, reaching triple-digit growth and expanding its staff strength to 50 across Singapore, , Thailand and India.

5. To speed up its growth, Anchanto is targeting Southeast Asia to ride the online retail trend and its huge population of over 600 million people. The highly fragmented market calls for a pan-Southeast Asia fulfilment, channel management and marketing solution that Anchanto can offer.

6. Given IE Singapore’s strong presence in Southeast Asia (11 offices), Anchanto partnered the agency for insights to address market dynamics, cultural challenges and delivery constraints, as well as for connections to brands, distributors and e- marketplaces. This was done through market studies with e-marketplaces such as

Tiki 2 , and partnerships with companies including Philippine Postal Corporation, Vietnam Post and DM Fulfilment. Today, Anchanto enables ecommerce across 12 countries, in key export markets of China, Hong Kong, Italy, , Spain, United Kingdom and United States, as well as key consumption markets of India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

7. These established networks saw Anchanto secure three deals with Lazada, Essilor and Pos Malaysia for its first-of-a-kind cross-border ecommerce services.  Lazada, the region’s largest e-marketplace will use SelluSeller as its first external platform to enable cross border listing; its first customer is Essilor, the largest global manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses.  Pos Malaysia plans to transform from a traditional postal company to an ecommerce-enabled company using Anchanto’s ecommerce warehouse management system.

IE Singapore will continue to enable Singapore companies to develop innovative business models to capture value in the digital space, and strengthen Singapore's overall ecommerce capabilities.”

9. As Anchanto works towards becoming Southeast Asia’s top ecommerce selling and logistics platform, IE Singapore will continue as a close partner in developing higher value added services, connecting to partners, and expanding their global network. For example, with the rising importance of an omni-channel strategy, IE Singapore will work with Anchanto to expand its offerings and develop a complete ecommerce solution.

10. Mr Dabhade further added, “We are extremely excited about this partnership with IE Singapore and firmly believe that this will create great opportunities for companies who are looking to expand their operations across the region.”
