This user bulletin describes special information related to UltraTax/1065-IN.

SPECIAL INFORMATION

Electronic Filing Mandate Per the Indiana Department of Revenue, any employer that files more than 25 W-2s in a calendar year is required to file the WH-3 and their wage statements electronically. For more information on the mandate, review http://www.in.gov/dor/4462.htm.

Federal electronic filing status As of the date of this release, the Internal Revenue Service is not yet accepting electronically filed partnership returns for tax year 2013. Thomson Reuters is approved to electronically file Indiana withholding returns through bulk upload; however the Indiana withholding electronic files cannot be sent to the state until the IRS begins accepting tax year 2013 returns. When the IRS does begin accepting electronic files, Thomson Reuters will release an update that will enable the generation of an electronic return that will conform to the state’s guidelines.

Approval of Form IT-65 Partnership Return and Two-dimensional (2D) bar codes The state of Indiana uses a two-dimensional (2D) bar code data sheet on Schedule COR-BAR, which contains all the data on the return.

Note: If any part of the return is changed and re-printed, the Schedule COR-BAR containing the 2D bar code must also be re-printed.

Form presentation With this release, UltraTax/1065-IN conforms to the requests by Indiana Department of Revenue to complete all forms with upper-case text. Numerical values on government forms will not contain commas. Punctuation will not appear in most identification numbers, zip codes, and telephone numbers.

General procedures Indiana Department of Revenue requests black ink on plain white 8.5" x 11" . Paper with holes punched, gloss, or "onionskin" paper is not acceptable.

PDF printing procedures Indiana Department of Revenue requests specific printer settings if government forms are first printed into Adobe Acrobat® PDF images. Set "scaling" to one of the following settings, depending on the version of Adobe Acrobat® used to prevent shrinking of the government form. Scaling: "None" or "100%" Scale to : "No Scaling"

Proforma of client documents The following 2012 UltraTax/1065-IN client documents will not be available for proforma purposes. . All tax authority slipsheets were updated to support partnership foreign addresses and all portrait- style slipsheets were updated for the addition of the bulk mail slipsheet format. . Return and WH3/WH18 filing instruction and transmittal inserts.

ENHANCEMENTS

The following calculating forms were added to UltraTax/1065-IN. . Form WH-3, Annual Withholding Tax Reconciliation . IN-COMPA, Indiana Composite Filing Opt-Out Affidavit . Schedule IN-EDGE, Economic Development for a Growing Economy Credit . Schedule IN-EDGE-R, Economic Development for a Growing Economic Economy Retention Credit . Form IT-6WTH payment method. Ultra Tax/1065-IN defaults to using the Form IT-6WTH composite withholding payment method. To continue to use Forms WH-3/WH18 to report composite withholding, mark the Composite payments reported on WH-18 box on screen INComp.

Schedule IT-20REC, Indiana Research Expense Tax Credit was added as a non-calculating form.

Electronic bulk upload of withholding forms WH-3 and WH-18 UltraTax/1065-IN now supports electronic bulk upload of withholding forms WH-3 and WH-18. The Indiana Department of Revenue suggests this method when required to report more than 3,500 statements.

UltraTax CS Electronic Filing utility UltraTax/1065-IN now supports electronic filing diagnostics, filing instructions, and electronic filing-only worksheets to complete prior to the release of the UltraTax CS Electronic Filing utility.
