Training & Placement is an integral part of any institution. The College has appointed a Training & Placement cell in order to facilitate the process of placements. The prime objective of the T&P Cell is to act as a facilitator for its graduating students and industry by providing a common platform where the prospective employer companies can identify suitable candidates for placement in their organization.

The T&P Cell of MPC ensures that the budding pharmacy graduates of college are provided opportunities to realize their full potential and are placed in good companies.

In the year 2013-14, several pharma companies had been invited for conducting campus interviews for B.Pharm and M.Pharm students. Pharma majors namely-Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Vadodara; Macleods Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai; Gufic Biosciences, Navsari; Vapi Care Pharma, Vapi conducted campus interviews at MPC. Apart from this, off- campus interviews were organised by several reputed pharmaceutical companies like Ipca Laboratories, Mumbai; Aventis Ankleshwar; Cadila Pharma, Ahmedabad; Apicore Pharmaceuticals, Baroda; Zota Health Care, Surat and S. Kant Laboratories, Vapi.

8 students were successfully placed in Gufic Biosciences, Navsari, which is a national leader in manufacturing of lyophilized preparations. Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad, which is involved in selling and distributing medicines in over eighty-five countries around theth world, appointed 3 candidates. Macleods Pharmaceuticals which, is currently ranked 10 ) in Indian Pharmaceutical Industry and is recognized as one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical company in India, selected 4 candidates for their Daman based plant. Ipca Laboratories, Mumbai, which is a therapy leader in India for anti-malarials, recruited 1 candidate for F&D department. Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited, Vadodara, one of India's well-established and integrated Pharmaceutical Company selected 1 candidate in A.D.L. department whereas 2 candidates have been shortlisted. Aventis, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, appointed 1 candidate of MPC. Apicore LLC, headquartered in New Jersey, USA, is a leading process R&D and API manufacturing service provider for the worldwide pharmaceutical industry. For its Vadodara based facility, 1 candidate from MPC was selected. ZOTA Pharmaceuticals is a Surat based flourishing pharmaceutical industry. In its IPR division, 1 candidate from MPC was selected. Centaur Pharmaceuticals All-India network includes a 1000 strong sales force that covers 250,000 doctors and 250,000 retailers every month. 1 candidate was employed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals for its Surat location. The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is an initiative undertaken by the government of India to address the health needs of underserved rural areas. 1candidate was employed as a community pharmacist under the NHRM. 1 candidate was employed as a retail pharmacist. The highest package offered to the students was Rs. 2, 000, 00/- by Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited, Vadodara.

To get hands-on experience and to get acquainted with the corporate environment, 5 students were placed for their M.Pharm dissertation work in various pharmaceutical industries and clinical research centres. The students successfully completed their projects along with words of appreciation from the employers.

Industrial training at undergraduate level paves the way for better understanding of the practical aspects. 100 students of B.Pharm got three months training in A.D.L and production departments of several pharmaceutical industries of Gujarat.

The employers as well as the prospective employers were satisfied by the skill, knowledge, integrity and commitment of the undergraduate and post graduate students of MPC.

The T&P cell is working in the direction of improving the placement scenario and making the students “employable” by upgrading their soft skills in addition to the technical aspects.
