Forever Young goes in a lot of familiar directions -- time travel, a cuddly child and a single mom, a mix of drama, comedy, sci-fi, mystery and romance. But mostly, it manages to be entertaining without offending anyone or forcing the issue. The early portion of the show -- set in -- Forever Found: A Love Story a soft, dreamy, realistic look at what that time was like. The characters seem to Forever Found: A Love Story been drawn from the audience, from the masses, instead of being picture-perfect in look and dress. The acting is low-key, relaxing and believable. And, while the plot covers a lot of ground, it ties together well and has enough mystery that the viewer won't be able to guess the outcome and is sure to be satisfied with both the journey and the Forever Found: A Love Story. Both shows are loaded with characters that are easy to like because of who they are and how they respond. Mel Gibson in Forever Young is particularly effective when dealing with the son of Jamie Lee Curtis; you know she's already committed and he cannot hang around, but you find yourself wishing the boy could have Mel for his new dad. So many of you have been asking me, since I got Forever Found: A Love Story and subsequently engagedhow I got to know my then-boyfriend and now-fiance, Ken Soh. However, the truth is that even though Ken and I have not been together long, it feels like we have known each other all along. I never knew that such a perfect person in Ken could exist, much less wind up to be my life partner. In this series, I will share the story of how we met, got attached, and quickly realized that we are meant for each other in this lifetime and beyondamong other things. From my longstanding singlehoodto my past heartbreakand to my recent sponsored experience at a dating agencythese are all part and parcel of my love journey. But to give you guys a complete picture, up until I got attached to Ken, I was single for the most part of the first 28 years of my life. I grew up in a household where my parents staunchly ruled that I was not allowed to see anyone until I graduated. While I never gave their opinions second thought, I believe their staunch views subconsciously made me devalue my desire to be with someone. I had a couple of relationships when I was in secondary school, but they Forever Found: A Love Story very short-term — each lasting no more than a couple of weeks. I felt I was living my most purposeful life ever and it was time to take things to the next level by working on the one area I Forever Found: A Love Story not actualized yet—love. And what better to do it then than later, given that I was 28 and what I Forever Found: A Love Story to be a prime age to date and seek out a serious relationship partner? It was time for me to take the leap of faith and boldly step forward. Forever Found: A Love Story came out of this was one thing, but the most important thing was for me to put my best foot forward. So I did. I felt I could do better in meeting like-minded people in a more regimented fashion. My answer? Meetup groups — targeted ones. I also felt that meeting people in such environments was the best way to showcase the real me, since work is such a huge part of my life. I became open to date-related activities like singles events — a first since I would put them down as dumb and awkward in the past. My good friend, W, is single and joins singles events occasionally, so I would join him if I was free and if the event looked promising. I made it known to others that I was open to dating and gave the opening for friends to set me up if they wanted to. I also constantly checked with friends and acquaintances if they had upcoming events I could join in. Whenever people invited me to birthday parties, house parties, networking events, talks, and so on, I would gladly accept their invitations. To me, these were all opportunities to meet new people, on top of attending for the event itself. To the guys who asked me out, be Forever Found: A Love Story from my personal circle or business contacts, I would accept their dates unless I really had no interest. This was a far cry from the past, when I turned down almost every guy based on the most whimsical of factors. Actually, I went on more dates than most of my peers went on in their entire lives, before they finally got attached. As if law of attraction was at work, guys would suddenly spring out of the blue to ask me out — and these could be guys I already knew from before but never stayed in touch with. It was like I was putting out the intention to date and the universe, having received that, was helping to make Forever Found: A Love Story happen. I would immediately reject such guys. During this period, I learned much about myself and what I seek in a relationship partner. While I had always had a good idea of what I would like in a guy, this dating phase developed my awareness to a whole new level. Also, I am actually very widely socialized compared to the average person — their service would probably help for people who have limited social circles due to their work or otherwise and totally have no time to meet new people. As an agency, they have great and friendly staff, ever ready to help. As for dates from my own network, there were some promising prospects with strong compatibility points, but these were not enough for me to enter into a relationship with either of them. Despite being a son of a shipping tycoon, Ian refused to just ride in his father's empire. He built his own real estate company and earned his first million at a very young age. He never looked back since then. Driven by his ambition to become better, if not as good as his father, Ian managed to make it on his own. But behind all the glory is a man yearning for love and recognition. Wounded from the abandonment of their mother when he was 17 and desperate for his father's approval, Ian longed for someone who can and will love him unconditionally. And he felt this twice when he met two women who would change his life forever - Joanna and Karyn. Joanna Villanueva is a picture of quiet confidence and success. Finally, a mainstream Filipino flick that experiments with non-linear storytelling, uses an excellent cast not reliant on the upcoming star of the momentand doesn't insult the moviegoers' intelligence with overly explicit explanations. Direk Maryo J. The sound engineering was consistently solid, the wardrobe and make-up were expressive of the characters' personalities, and the acting was mostly spot-on. The cinematography is subtly symbolic, thoughtful and well-motivated. The first establishing shot is a bird's-eye view of the Alabang Town Center fountain, done ala Gaudi with fragmented tile pieces, foreshadowing the movie's theme of broken relationships, and ends with the lead characters walking over a rocky shore. Ian Montes played to the hilt by Aga Muhlach is the classic Pinoy male who feels he's God's gift to women; unlike most men of this strutting ilk, at least he comes equipped with dimples, a well-maintained bod and makes oodles of money. Joanna sympathetically performed by Maricel Soriano is the doctor who finds new love in Ian after recuperating from Forever Found: A Love Story cheating husband and showers him with attention. Karyn believably portrayed by Angelica Panganiban is the stewardess that Ian is drawn to because of her youthful spontaneity. The characters are complex and offer facets the audience can relate to. Absurdly fascinating yet true is how these independent, strong-willed women are reduced to mindless martyrs whenever the object of their affection throws another testosterone-filled tantrum. What is ridiculous is while both women are shown to have depth beyond their looks which is supposed to complicate the choice further ; there is nothing beyond the superficial that Ian offers other than what is apparently great sex. His father's words of wisdom apparently did not impress upon him: Flowers are like women; do not pick a flower Forever Found: A Love Story you will just throw it away. You have to take care of it because there will never be another one like it again. There is nothing more satisfying than right triumphing over wrong, no matter how difficult. Those who indulge in adultery really set themselves up for inevitable pain. This Forever Found: A Love Story really a good example of while we all have a choice, it takes two to tango! All in all, a Forever Found: A Love Story movie, but if I had to nitpick, I'd change the title why in English? And why so plain and non-descript? Also, cut out the draggy parts and reshoot some of Angelica's speaking lines in English because they distract from the dialogue. And okay, rehashing the Joey Forever Found: A Love Story song "Tell Me" is cheesy with literal lyrics as a compromise-trademark of Filipino films, which could've been tolerated except whenever it played in the movie and the lady beside me would burst into heartfelt song.
