Most probably you will be flying in to Helsinki International airport. From the airport the best way to come to downtown Helsinki is with the public transport train. It takes about 30 minutes to downtown Helsinki central railway station with the train.

On Monday 25th please come FIRST to the event venue (Valkosaari/Blekholmen island) and REGISTER. There is a ferry you will need to take to get to the venue island. The map on the “MAP”-page ;-) shows where that ferry leaves from.

You can walk to the Valkosaari/Blekholmen ferry station, or then use public transport. Please read “TRAVEL in Helsinki”-page for more info about the public transport. REGISTRATION

Registration open from 9:00 to 18:00 on Monday 25th.

• At registration you will get your event accreditation badge. • Each team will need to pay the damage deposit (cash or credit card) at registration.

You will also have the possibility to pre-order/buy lunch for the race days at registration. The pre-order lunch that will be served to you on water (when you are not sailing) or to the venue island is a warm meal that costs 8,50 Eur. The event venue is NJK’s club island Valkosaari (its name in Finnish) / Blekholmen (its name in Swedish) located in the downtown Helsinki harbor. The race office for HWM2018 is at the white clubhouse building (you cannot miss it) on the Valkosaari / Blekholmen island. All events related to the event will be held on the island.

Facilities at the event venue • Changing room • Shower and sauna • Possibility to leave your stuff on the island when you are out sailing • Possibility to buy after-sail dinner at ”membership price” at the NJK restaurant at your own expence.

The Valkosaari/Blekholmen ferry will pick up sailors every morning from the Suomenlinna ferry station at the market square at approx 08:40. Take this ferry, or take a morning walk along the downtown harbor shore to the venue ferry (09:00). PROGRAM

The Daily morning briefing will be held every day at 9am at the venue island Valkosaari / Blekholmen. In it is mandatory to have personal life wests when on water. SO ALL sailors need to bring their own personal life wests (PFD’s) along for the event. After every sailing day, there will be a traditional “Meet the sailors TALKSHOW” – a possibility to wrap up the day, share stories and feelings with the audience. We hope all sailors take part in this. There will also be possibility for an internal debriefing if needed.
