TSR Riders & In Hand Championships - This show is a qualifier for the 2020 TSR/Riders/In Hand Regional Championships. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional finals, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, Wales & South West or Scottish. You do not have to be a TSR member to qualify and enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of finals! TSR Riders Champs : 1st & 2nd riders to qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. TSR In Hand Champs: The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand Class. Handlers must have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward. Equifest 2021 : This show is affiliated to Equifest , taking place at East of England Showground 19- 23rd August 2020. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. The following classes are qualifiers, 1-6, 8-11, 15,16, 33

CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE GB 2021

First, second and third placed /ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will qualify for the Champion of Britain Title classes to be held at Addington Manor, Buckingham on Sunday 13th September 2021. If a horse/pony has already qualified, cards may be handed down to 6th place at judge’s discretion. Each qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring which will enable the owner to enter the Championship Show, provided the owner and rider/handler are, or become registered with the Concours d’Elegance Society within 21 days of the qualifying show. This show is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association Championships to be held on 3 – 5 September 2021 at The David Broome Event Centre, Crick, Monmouthshire. NP26 5XP

To qualify for the Championships: 1. Enter one of the qualifying classes. 2. Be one of the two highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first

four and receive a qualification card.

3. Complete the entry form on the qualification card. 4. Register on-line at www.showingscene.com within 14 days of qualification 5. Upload this card using our on-line management system at www.showingscene.com

Please Note: Registration fee for 2020 is £30 to include all members of the family and equines owned by the family.

For shows held after the 2022 Championship Show, qualification will be for the 2022 Championship Show

3 RULES 1. The committee reserve the right to refuse entry 2. The Judge’s decision is final 3. Ponies entered in all classes must be registered with the Highland Pony Society in the Full Stud Book or Ap-pendices A, B & C. Part Breds must be registered with the HPS in the Part Bred register. (foals are eligible if awaiting registration) 4. Ponies (except part breds) must not exceed 14.2 (148cm) 5. Over height Highlands may only be entered in the part bred classes 6. Ponies must be shown in their natural state as per HPS showing recommendations 7. Correctly secured British standard hats/skulls must be worn at all times when mounted with the chinstrap se- cured. Any competitor whose hat comes off or chinstrap comes undone whilst competing must, on penalty of elimination, replace it before continuing. He /She may dismount without penalty to recover the hat or have it passed up from the ground, or may stop to refasten the hat. 8. Behaviour by an exhibitor or his servants deemed to be unsporting or unreasonable, or any animal which, in the opinion of the judge, is deemed to be out of control will be requested to be removed from the ring or show- ground and may cause all rosettes, prize money, and entry fees to be withheld. 9. Objections must be lodged with the Secretary in writing, accompanied by £25 within 30 Minutes of the class conclusion. Money will be returned if the objection is upheld. No objections will be considered from anybody who is not competing at the event and on the showground. 10. All foals must be 3 weeks old or over on the day of the show. 11. A novice pony must not have been placed 1st in an open class up to the day of the show. Entries maybe moved to another section of ridden class at no additional cost. 12. The committee reserve the right to combine/ split classes at its discretion 13. It will be a condition of entry that the following apply. The Show Committee shall not be liable for any dam- ages to persons, animals or property or exhibitors may sustain during the show. Each entrant must agree to in- demnify the organisers of the TGA Trading ( Three Counties Showground) against any legal action arising from incidents at the show. 14. All colts and Stallions over 2 years old must be bitted. All stallions over 4 years old must hold a Highland Pony Society Stallion Licence. 15. All entrants must be at the collecting ring 5 minutes before the class is due to start unless otherwise stated 16. No spurs allowed to be worn on the showground at any time. 17. No stallions must be shown In Hand or Under by children under15 years of age. 18. In event of cancellation entry fees will be refunded less 20% administration 19. DOGS—for reasons of safety and to prevent nuisance dogs can only be permitted on the showground on a lead, PLEASE CLEAR UP AFTER YOUR DOG. 20. STABLING—is subject to availability on a first come first served basis. 21. INSURANCE:(a) It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and livestock on the showground or elsewhere which is his own, or for which he is Responsible 22. Competitor numbers to be worn at all times when leading/riding ponies at any time on the showground 23. Please keep to the allotted area do not take ponies over to Show or Palomino Show areas unless it is with the consent from a member of committee on Southern Highland Pony Show 24. SOCIAL MEDIA : Any exhibitor or his servants, or any person attending the event who is found to be posting on social media comments that are found be insulting/ abusive towards to any member of the committee, judges, stewards or other competitors will be refused entry to any further classes at the event, you will be requested to remove yourself and ponies from the showground with immediate effect forfeiting any prize monies won as well as any stable costs, you may also be banned from taking part in the 2021 event. Please ensure that you are careful what is being posted!

National Championship The NPS/NAF Novice WHP National Championship The NPS / Horse Quest In Hand National Championship The NPS/Scaracen Horse Freeds M&M Home Produced In Hand National Championship Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members and at Breed Shows ponies can qualify for the final even if their owners are not NPS members. The owner of a pony qualifying at a Breed Show must become an NPS Qualifying member for the pony to enter the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. At Breed Shows ponies can win Silver Medal Rosettes even if their owners are not members of the NPS but they must become NPS Qualifying members to enter the final. The highest placed pony in each class qualifies for the final, qualification may pass down to third place. NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship Rules These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. At Breed Shows ponies can win Silver Medal Rosettes even if their owners are not members of the NPS but they must become NPS Qualifying members to enter the final. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships

Champion W.H.P Overall Ridden Champion, Overall In-Hand Champion Bronze Medal The medal is presented to the exhibitor of the winning pony providing they are a Society member and the registered keeper (owner/HPS official loanee) of the pony. The award is not taken down the line if the winner is not a member.”

This show is a qualifier for the 2021 Highland Pony Society Young stock Championship. The Champion youngster across classes 31,32,33. will qualify for the Highland Pony Youngstock Championships to be held on 2021 at Strathallan Castle, Perthshire PH3 1JZ 6th September on 2021 at H.P.E.C Summer Show at Equifest. East of England Showground, Peterborough PE2 6XE on 23rd August 2020. Only pure bred foals, 1,2 and3 year old Highland ponies may enter. Exhibitors are not required to be members of the Highland Pony Society

PRIZE MONEY : Please note all prize money awarded will be given at the show. After 11.30 please go to secretary area with your award slip, rosette and competitor number to collect your winnings. Any money not collected at the show will be deemed a donation towards the 2022 event.

CUPS & TROPHIES : All winners must collect after 12noon from the cup & trophy secretary, Mrs Kim Gough. The deposits will be refunded in 2021 ONLY if the said cup/trophy is returned by the date due and in UNDAMAGED /CLEAN condition.

We are a small stud based in Cambridgeshire aiming to breed true to type, traditional highland ponies with good temperaments.

Kincardine Raasay stud stallion S - Ulleam of Croila (Sire of Ben Breac of Croila) D - Kincardine Gael (going back to Corriegarth Rhiddoroch. Raasay has a lovely temperament and is a super stamp of pony, we are anxiously awaiting his first crop of foals due this spring.

Class 11 MASTERCLASS RIDDEN Pre entries only. Lesson will be approx 45 minutes and you will be split into suitable groups. No need for show clothes, but hard hats and suitable footwear must be worn.

Class 12 Walk & Trot Ridden N/Ex 14.2hh Ponies 4 years old & over, will only be required to walk & trot in a group as well as individual shows. This class is designed for the novice pony and or rider. Please enter in the spirit intended. CLASS BD PRIVATE DRIVING Open to registered or part bred Highland Ponies. Horse or pony, 4 years old or over, driven to a traditional or traditional type vehicle. A traditional vehicle means a vehicle of traditional profile and identifiable type to resemble the design of a carriage built prior to the First World War. The vehicle may be made from modern materials but must have traditional style springing and carriage lamps. Pneumatic tyred vehicles, trade turnouts and show wagons are not eligible.

CLASS BDa EXERCISE VEHICLES

. Open to registered or part bred Highland Ponies. Open to horses & ponies, 4 years old or over. A single, pair or tandem driven to a carriage of non-traditional type design and includes those with pneumatic tyres specifically designed for carriages (i.e. not car tyres). Lamps need not be carried. Judging will include general cleanliness, safety of turnout, correct fitting of harness and vehicle suitability.

CLASS BDb CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE

Open to registered or part bred Highland Ponies, Open to singles, pairs, multiples, 4 years old or over, to a traditional type vehicle. The essence of the class is the word ‘elegance’ and the winner will be the turnout, which, in the opinion of the Judge, presents the most elegant effect. To include vehicle, horse, driver, passenger etc. but above all the general impression. Attention may be paid to drivers/passengers’ personal costume but fancy dress or period costume is definitely barred. The whole object of the class is to establish which turnout presents the most pleasing picture and normal judging criteria does not apply. It is judged from a distance and vehicles are NOT closely inspected. To be driven at park pace.

6.00 Strictly Sharpley Free to enter class, ponies can be shown In Hand, Ridden, Driven or groups. This class is dedicated to an avid supporter of the Southern Highland Pony Show, the Late Mr Michael Sharpley, who just loved Strictly Come Dancing, so its based on this theme. You can come in traditional clothes, or costume, music or not the choice really is yours. The aim of the class is to impress the 3 judges who will be giving scores from 10 for technical merit, overall impression, and artistic impression. Over the years we have had dressage displays, acrobats, Horse boarding, competitors bribing judges with drinks and so much more, the world is your oyster, think about what your pony excels at and what you can do as a team. On the build up to the event we will be posting ideas from previous winners of the competition. THIS CLASS WILL ONLY RUN IF WE HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6 PRE ENTRIES. Rosettes sponsored by JB Rosettes

6.20 BONNETTS EMBROIDERY CHAMPION HIGHLAND PONY 21st ANNIVERSARY SHOW Qualification cards presented to various events throughout 2020, placing to 6th, and special prizes will be given on the night. This will be judged by a panel of 3 judges with mark cards. Prizes 1-6th with commemorative rosettes to every entrant. An entry fee of £15.00 per pony will be charged, and ALL entry fees will be donated to the prize fund, exact amount to be announced on the day.

A silver medal rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Highland In Hand section. The Sponsors Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification. Owners must become Qualifying or Life members of the NPS to enter the final in 2020. Overall In hand will go forward to Supreme of Show, Prize Money will be Awarded Champion £40 Reserve £20

CLASS 35 The B.S.P.S. Le Mieux Heritage Ridden Championship Registered Pure Bred Highland. Ponies 4 years old or over, Riders any age Rosettes to 6th place. Sponsor : Conway Stud PRIZE MONEY : 1st £25, 2nd £20, 3rd £15

Ponies, Owners and Riders need not be B.S.P.S. Members to compete in the Olympia Breed Semi-Final qualifying class, but pony, owner and rider will need to register to compete in the SEMI-FINAL to be held at the B.S.P.S. “Heritage” Championship Show. Classes will be judged under B.S.P.S. rules as per the 2020 B.S.P.S. Rule and Show Handbook. Animals must be the correct height for the breed as laid down in the individual breed standards. The 1st and 2nd prize winners from the above class will qualify to compete at the Semi-Final to be held at the B.S.P.S HERITAGE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW, at Arena UK. (The qualification will NOT pass down the line)

CHAMPIONSHIP – From all non NPS/ BSPS/ SSADL Affiliated Classes. Those eligible will be first and second winners from the following classes 5,7-10,12-14,17-18,36-37, 39- 40, 44 You will not be able to compete in this championship if you are eligible to compete in the In hand Championship, Novice & open Ridden Championships and the WHP Championship. Champion/reserve and first reserve rosettes and sashes. The rules for competing in this championship will be as follows : The pony should be stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which ,since 1st January in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producers yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified.

Partnership Championship : Qualification cards will be awarded to the competitor the judge feels deserves to go forward to this championship, not necessarily the class winners, but those who have impressed the judge with the bonding between pony/rider/handler, anybody they feel has tried hard despite problems. The Championship will be judged by 2 judges. Champion, Reserve and First Reserve Sashes.

Class 38 The NPS/Ryehouse Native Show Team M&M Junior Ridden National Championship Riders must not have attained their 18th birthdays before 1st January in The current year. Class 39 Novice Handler 1st/2nd Season In Ring To be judged on the way the pony is turned out for the show ring, and the way the leader shows and presents the pony forward for the judge. CONFORMATION WILL NOT BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. This class will be solely judged on the handler’s ability. A short test may be Requested by the judge. Please enter this class in the spirit intended. No children under 16 leading colts/ stallions. Younger children may have an assistant walking beside them during the class

NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship Rules These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. At Breed Shows ponies can win Silver Medal Rosettes even if their owners are not members of the NPS but they must become NPS Qualifying members to enter the final. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships

Class 44 Style & Performance Ridden Pony to be 4 years old or over, to perform a short ridden test, confirmation will NOT be taken Into account. Part Bred ponies eligible. Any suitable bit. Riders to be suitably mounted. A short show not exceeding 2 minutes should include the following: Square Halt, 3 loop serpentine which should be ridden in canter, you may trot to change diagonals, rein back of 5 strides, halt and move forward 5 strides. Canter on a 20m circle, walk on long rein. Each element will be marked from 20 points and an overall impression mark from 50. In event of a tie the ride mark will take president.

The Iceni native pony show was founded in 2013, and is dedicated to all native breeds. We have several events being planned this year as follows :

5th April – M&M Study Day, a wonderful opportunity for probationer judges to see all 12 breeds with speakers on each breed. You will have chance to get close to ponies, complete a HOYS 50/50 mark sheet, as well as being able to ask question on specific breeds. In hand section in morning, short break for lunch then ridden in afternoon. Taking place at Milton College, Cambridge £10 per candidate £5 per lunch.

23rd May – Show at Beechwood Equestrian, Rettendon Common, Chelmsford. TSR/Equifest qualifiers. Indoor and outside surfaces. Open to all M&M breeds. In Hand/Ridden classes

13th September – Pre HOYS show, affiliated to NPS/TSR/Equifest/Highland Pony Society/Shetland Pony Society. Music will be playing, indoor ring with In hand & Ridden classes. Open to all M&M breeds.
