Definition of Archaeology, aims and objective of archaeology, history and development of archaeology, Relation of archaeology with history, geography, anthropology and other sciences.

Dating methods in archaeology: (such as coins, inscriptions, c/4 dating, dendrochronology).

Part – B

Ancient History of Pakistan and India:

Sources of ancient Indian history; Vedic Aryans, (their social Political, economic and religious life); and teachings of Buddha: Alexander’s invasion of Pakistan: administration of Chandar-gupta maurya: Ashoka’s contributions to Buddhism; achievements of Kanieshka; Gandhara art.
