There are 25 athletes on the 2018 roster: Anass Ait el Abdia, Fabio Aru, Darwin Atapuma, Matteo Bono, Sven Erik Bystrøm, Simone Consonni, Valerio Conti, Rui Costa, Kristijan Durasek, Roberto Ferrari, Filippo Ganna, Alexander Kristoff, Vegard Stake Laengen, Marco Marcato, Daniel Martin, Yousif Mirza, Manuele Mori, Simone Petilli, Jan Polanc, Edward Ravasi, Aleksandr Riabushenko, Rory Sutherland, Ben Swift, Oliviero Troia and Diego Ulissi. During the reunion, decisions were made regarding the technical staff, which will call on members from 4 different countries to lead the UAE Team: Marco Marzano (Italy), Joxean Matxin (Spain), Philippe Mauduit (France), Simone Pedrazzini (Switzerland), Daniele Righi (Italy), Mario Scirea (Italy), Bruno Vicino (Italy), and Paolo Tiralongo (Italy) on board as assistant sports director. Jolien D’hoore takes Madison World Cup victory in Pruszków Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling’s Jolien D’hoore cruised to victory in the Madison race, along with partner Lotte Kopecky, in the first round of the 2017/18 UCI Track World Cup, in Pruszkóv, Poland. The two Belgians, clad in the Rainbow Jerseys that they took at the World Championships, in Hong Kong in April, finished the 20km event with a total of 29 points, beating the Great Britain duo of 2018 Wiggle High5 signing Elinor Barker and Emily Nelson into second place with 23. Macey Stewart returns to professional cycling with Wiggle High5 Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling is delighted to announce that Macey Stewart will be joining the team in 2018, as she makes her return to the professional peloton. The 21-year-old from Devonport, Tasmania, was Junior Time Trial World Champion in 2014, as well as taking two junior Rainbow Jerseys on the track the same year in the Omnium and Team Pursuit. She turned professional the following year, at the age of just 18, before stepping away from the highest level of the sport in 2016. VETERANKLUBBENS POKAL - VINNERE Veteranklubbens Pokal ble innført i 1966 og ble fram til og med 1985 delt ut til vinneren av den NM- distansen hvor Kongepokalen ikke var satt opp, dvs. vekselvis Menn senior 170/180 km fellesstart og Menn senior 50 km tempo. I årene 1986-1996 ble pokalen ikke delt ut, bortsett fra 1993 da det ble delt ut 3 pokaler ifm VM i Oslo. Siden 1997 er den delt ut årlig til en utøver som har vist fremragende innsats og resultater. After Ghent-Wevelgem last week, today he attacked for another 140 kilometres with five others in the Tour of Flanders. “It was great,” Ganna explained. “On the climbs, the fans were yelling so much that I couldn’t even hear myself. The DS every now and then, spoke and I told him to say it again, I couldn’t hear because of the fans. “I like that I’m doing well from the start in these races, but I need to still learn now to race here in the North. Every bit of energy you save, counts. I can’t even think of Roubaix now, I’m too tired.” Niki Terpstra (Quick-Step Floors) won the race solo with 12 seconds over Dane Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) and 17 seconds over his team-mate Philippe Gilbert. Il bordigotto Oliviero Troia: «Bloccato all’ultimo momento» di Elisa Colli – 18 Luglio 2021 – 10:25 Bordighera. «Ero ancora a casa per fortuna – racconta il bordigotto Oliviero Troia che avrebbe dovuto partecipare alla Volta Limburg Classic, oggi, il 18 luglio, ma è stata annullata dagli organizzatori dopo le forti piogge e le inondazioni che hanno devastato il Limburgo meridionale nei Paesi Bassi – sono sinceramente molto rattristato riguardo alla catastrofe successa, vedendo i danni e i dispersi ho subito pensato che fosse la cosa più giusta da fare. La gara è stata annullata ma sinceramente non ho idea se verrà recuperata più avanti». A causa dei danni causati dal maltempo gli organizzatori della Volta Limburg Classic hanno infatti deciso di annullare la gara ciclistica: «La situazione creata dalle inondazioni in gran parte del Limburgo meridionale è incalcolabile e causa enormi problemi. Come organizzazione eravamo pronti, ma il Limburgo meridionale è devastato da forti piogge e inondazioni e questo causa enormi problemi. Molte strade nel Limburgo meridionale sono impraticabili e la situazione rimane molto incerta. I problemi nella regione sono enormi e i danni incalcolabili. Siamo sconfitti e tristi dopo aver visto le terribili immagini. Siamo solidali con tutte le persone colpite e auguriamo loro molta forza si– legge nella nota ufficiale – L’annullamento del weekend Volta Limburg Classic è quindi l’unica opzione, anche se questo fine settimana tornerà a splendere il sole e le strade sarebbero di nuovo accessibili. Come organizzazione pensiamo che non sia responsabile organizzare un evento in questa zona disastrata».

Sabato 23 marzo si correrà la 110ª edizione della gara ciclistica Milano- Sanremo. Come da tradizione, i corridori partiranno alle ore 10,10 in via della Chiesa Rossa nel capoluogo lombardo, dopo la consueta parata davanti al Castello Sforzesco alle 9,45 ed un trasferimento di 7,6 chilometri. Il traguardo, da cinque anni, è stato riportato in via Roma, dove si sono concluse le edizioni comprese tra il 1949 e il 1985 e tra il 1994 e il 2007, a due soli chilometri dalla fine della discesa del Poggio; il tragitto avrà una lunghezza complessiva di 291 chilometri. Il giorno della gara su www.ivgsport.it potrete trovare la diretta testuale della corsa, con aggiornamenti costanti dalla partenza fino all’arrivo. Ipotizzando una media di 42 km/h, l’ingresso in Liguria, in provincia di Genova, è previsto intorno alle ore 13,13; l’ingresso in provincia di Savona intorno alle 14,15.
