Natural disaster Assessment and Response Update:

Baghlan: Total number of families verified: 211 Total number of families assisted: Ongoing and Planned distribution: 211 As per the initial report, 100 families were reportedly affected in Baghlan Jadid, Banu, Pule Hesar and Gozargah Noor districts on 04 June. A joint teams consisting of IOM, Act- ed, WFP, AKAH, DoRR, ACTED, DACCAR, DRRD and ANDMA initiated the assessment of the reported families. 211 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. Dis- tribution of assistance is being coordinated .

Kunduz: Total number of families verified: 79 Total number of families assisted: 79 Ongoing and Planned distribution: Due to heavy rainfall on 4-6 June; an unknown number of families were affected in different villages of Kunduz Center, Ali Abad and Chardara districts. Joint assessment initiat- ed on 09 June. 79 families were identified eligible for humanitarian assistance. OHW distributed cash for NFIs and Save the Children distributed cash for foods items.

Samangan: Total number of families verified: 575 Total number of families assisted: 575 Ongoing and Planned distribution: Per initial report obtain from ANDMA, 600 families were affected by flood in Aibak city on 03 Jun. A joint team consistingof IOM, WFP, Acted, DACCAR, RRD, ARCs and ANDMA conducted assessment of the affected families on 03 Jun. 575 families were identified eligible for humanitarian assistance. IOM and UNICEF distributed NFIs to 575 families. WFP covered food needs of the affected families.

Takhar: 20 families were reportedly affected and agricultural land were destroyed in Kalafgan and Chal districts of . A joint team consisting of IOM, ANDMA and part- ners conducted assessment of affected families that verified 18 families eligible for humanitarian assistance, ANDMA committed to distribute the humanitarian assistance to the affected families.

Balkh: Total number of families verified: 318 Total number of families assisted: 318 Ongoing and Planned distribution: As per the initial report by ANDMA, 300 families were affected by flood in Chemtal and Zari districts on 03 Jun. A joint team consisting of ANDMA, WFP, IOM and SCI con- ducted the assessment of affected families in Chamtal district on 04 Jun. 58 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. IOM distributed family modules, blan- kets, family tents and solar lanterns, SCI distributed hygiene kits and emergency shelter, WFP distributed food assistance to 58 verified families while ARCs initiated the as- sessment in the insecure areas of Chemtal and Zari districts. 260 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. UNICEF and ARCs distributed NFIs and ANDMA cov- ered food needs of the affected families.

Kunar: As per the initial report due to heavy rainfall, 17 families were affected in Asad Abad, Khas Kunar and Shegal districts on 25 May. A joint team consisted of ANDMA, WFP, RRD, IMC and ARCs initiate the assessment of the affected families on 27 May. 69 families were identify eligible for humanitarian assistance. ARCs and ANDMA will distribute NFIs and WFP will covered food needs of the affected families.

In the separate incident, due to heavy rainfall, one families was affected, two persons were killed and three others sustained injured in Watapoor district on 15 Jun. ANDMA, ARCs and IMC conducted assessment of the affected families. ARCs distributed NFIs, ANDMA covered food needs and two tents were distributed by IMC.

Total 1 7 Assessment of flood affected families in Jowzjan provinces 07 Jun 2019 @IOM Conflict IDPs Update: Herat: DoRR report, 20 families were displaced due to conflict from different provinces to Herat city in the month of May 2019, A joint team consisting of DoRR, DRC, IRC, DACAAR and ARAA conducted assessment on 27 May. 25 families were identified displaced and eligible for humanitarian assistance. DRC committed to provide cash for food and rent, IRC will provide NFIs and will cover wash needs of the displaced families. In separate incident, 18 families were displaced from Obe, Chest Sharif, Farsi districts, Helmand, Nimoroz, Farah and Badghis provinces due to conflict currently residing in He- rat city. A joint team consist of DRC, IRC, DACAAR, ARAA and DoRR conducted assessment on 10 June. 18 families were identified displaced and eligible for humanitarian assis- tance. UNHCR committed to cover NFIs, DACAAR will cover wash needs and DRC will provide cash for food. Kunar: DoRR reported, 480 families were displaced from Wata Por district to Asad Abad district due to on-going clash between government forces and ISK. A joint team consisting of humanitarian partners conducted the assessment of the displaced families. So far; 62 families were identified displaced and eligible for humanitarian assistance while the as- sessment is on-going.

Laghman: 257 families were displaced from various districts mainly due to AGEs threats currently residing in the neighboring villages of Mehtarlam city. A joint team consisting of DAC- CAR, IMC, WAW and WFP initiated assessment of the displaced families. The assessment is on-going and expected to complete next week.

Nangarhar: DoRR reported displacement of 12,038 families from and districts to various districts of as of 25 April due to on-going clashes between Taliban and ISK. 9,195 families were assessed and 2,098 families identified eligible for humanitarian assistance that were assisted by UNCHR, NCRO, IRC and WFP with NFIs and food items while the assessment is on-going. In a separate incident, 41 families were displaced from Sherzad district to Surkhrod, city and Khogyani districts due to on-going clashes between Taliban and ISK. A joint team consisting of WAW, WFP, DACAAR and DoRR initiated the assessment of displaced families. 13 families were identified displaced and eligible for humanitarian assis- tance for which response is being coordinated. Takhar: DoRR reported displacement of 900 families in Yaka-Bagh, Sadbargan, Totak, Zamchab and Deh-bala villages of Namak-Ab district and 100 families displaced from Bahark Dis- trict to Talqan City due to recently conflict between government forces and Taliban. A joint team consisting of humanitarian partners and DoRR initiated the assessment of the displaced families on 19 June. Ghazni: As per the initial reports received from ARCS, 400 families were displaced due to recent conflicts and ongoing military operation from Dihyak district to Pirzada, Qala E Jawz, Arbab Ha, Ali lala, Qala E Meri, Qala e Now and Khawaja Hakeem villages of Ghazni center and an unknow number of families were displaced from Dihyak and Khwaja Omari districts to other neighboring villages of the mentioned districts. Joint assessment teams consisting of IOM, ARCs, ANDMA, DoRR, WSTA, WFP, RI and RRD initiated the assess- ment of the displaced families on 13 June. So far 255 families are assessed in Ghazni center of which 167 families were identified eligible for humanitiarian assistance. DoRRD and WFP will initate distribution of NFIs and food items to 100 families on 24 June. The assessment is on-going while ARCS will conduct assessment in insecure areas. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR):

The first and second round of the community based disaster risk management (CBDRM) training workshop were completed in four communities of Kandahar and Herat provinc- es on April 2019. IOM had a coordination meeting with provincial ANDMA offices of Kandahar and Herat provinces and communities elders for the simulation exercise on 17 Jun. Simulation exercise conducted in Mamizak, Gazargah, Nahr Rawza and Bala Karz Communities of Herat and Kandahar provinces on 18,19 June. During the simulation exer- cise CBDRM tools and equipment were explained to the communities and volunteers practiced its usage. A scenario was developed in which all groups member of early warn- ing, search and rescue and first aid played their role.
